“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
-2 Timothy 4:17

As Christians, we can live in a state of uncertainty, not knowing when it is time to gear up and go to battle, and when it is time to take our hands off the wheel and let God drive.

But I would assert that both warfare and surrender are not in contention, and live in harmonious juxtaposition.

The same raised fist of a warrior, with the mere flex of the palm, becomes an uplifted hand of praise.

The nuance here is that we do not back down from our fight. Never. But we surrender our ultimate hope for victory to the Lord.

The Bible is filled with warriors and not one is ever commanded to retreat. But the pivotal strategy to victory is through acknowledgment that it is the Lord who fights with them.

And this is why worship is an act of warfare as well as a posture of surrender.

We do not surrender to the enemy, but we submit ourselves to the authority of our commander-in-chief, Jesus Christ. taken in Ascent Church by @defcon_blonde

Honored to be on FDD’s Morning Brief w/ @jconricus to discuss my documentary on OPERATION ARNON. If you don’t follow @fdd_org, they are an American research institute that produces excellent material on national security and foreign policy.
