We spent 6 years building this camper by hand.
One trip in… and going home already felt wrong.

We turned an empty Defender into a real home, entirely by hand. No garage, no prior experience.
6 years of trial and error, mistakes, and learning on the go... and today, we live in it full-time. Here's what we learned (save this before you start 👇):
✅ Start with a 3D plan before you begin the build
✅ Insulation = priority #1 if you're planning to live in it year-round
✅ The roof hatch: measure three times, cut once
✅ Electrical and plumbing before mounting the furniture, never the other way around
✅ Plan for 30% extra time and budget for every step
The result? A home we can take anywhere. 100% handmade, 100% ours.
And for those still hesitating to take the leap: we drew up our full plans and share them for free on our website. No need to start from scratch like we did.

We built it by hand.
The Defender was in bad shape when we found it. Rough, rusted, barely alive, but not gone. Seven years and more mistakes than we’ll admit later, it’s the only home we need.
