Last weekend we were in Toronto for a financial conference learning about protecting money and building wealth. Kids learned a lot that will help shape their future. Also was able to tour a few places such as the @thehockeyhalloffame and @cntower. taken in Toronto Canada by @deinstadtmichael

Hi Dad,

It’s been less than two weeks, but feels like a lifetime. I’ve wanted to say so much, but struggled. Here goes:

This hurts.

I honestly can’t believe you’ve left us far too soon. I have put on a brave face for everyone but I’m gutted. We are so much alike. We bottle up our feelings in hope it will just pass, but this won’t.

I have found myself wanting to pick up the phone to call you but I know the call won’t be answered. I miss our calls. All I have now is the memories of you. I think of them often.

The motorbike rides around the block, while mom was obviously not too happy, the many tugboat rides where you let me “drive” the tug. The stories I have heard you tell could fill a book. As a kid I wanted to be you when I was older. I wanted to learn as much as I could from you. I learned a lot, but wanted to learn so much more.

You were loved by all of us. You gave us an extended family we are forever grateful for. Jody, Rydell and Whitney, along with your grandkids who will miss you immensely and will always make sure you’re remembered.

Give mom a hug and kiss from us.

I hope she liked the flowers I left for her.
