Thank you to Interesante and writer Alejandro Mancilla for covering the Tijuana Vertical Film Festival 2026 and featuring Young Man Kang, Director of LA WEBFEST and Hollywood Series, in this special article. 🎬

The article covers my visit to Tijuana as part of the collaboration between LA WEBFEST and the Tijuana Vertical Film Festival.

At CUT Universidad de Tijuana, I had the opportunity to give a talk titled:

🎥 “How to Produce Vertical Cinema: Storytelling for the Mobile Screen”

It was especially meaningful to meet students of communication and film and exchange ideas about how vertical storytelling is developing into its own cinematic language for a new generation of filmmakers.

The article also highlights the growing connection between Tijuana and Los Angeles, including opportunities for filmmakers recognized at TJVEFF to participate in LA WEBFEST 2027.

What a magical series of experiences unfolding across Tijuana, Mexico. I am grateful for our @sandiegostandouts and San Diego Weekly team to be invited to return for this special production and to have witnessed another memorable chapter of BMW La Semana del Arte y de la Moda Baja California as the celebration expanded into a special public fashion show at Península Fashion Mall.

What began beneath the polished lights of ICON Runway: Pasarela Estelar at BMW Carmen Motors Tijuana continued through the artistic atmosphere of the Arte y Moda Showroom at Bodega Borgia, before reaching the public heart of the city at Península Fashion Mall.

Each setting offered something different: runway elegance, immersive art, live creative expression, beauty, fashion, music, and community. Together, these events felt like creative pop-ups appearing throughout Tijuana and inviting people to experience the city’s talent in new ways.

The public presentation brought together designers, models, artists, beauty products donated by Ulta Beauty, and the vision of Director and Producer Alfie Labander, Executive Director Matt Evans, Artistic Coordinator Alejandro “Alex” Larios, and the wider production team.

This was more than a collection of fashion shows. It was a living example of the Tijuana Renaissance, with artists, businesses, cultural spaces, and community members coming together to celebrate identity, imagination, entrepreneurship, and regional pride.

A special thank you to Cynthia Arriola, Image Consultant and founder of es.tee.lo, for her invitation, continued support, creative spirit, and passion for helping others step into their confidence and highest potential. Congratulations to everyone who helped transform this vision into an unforgettable celebration of creativity throughout Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.
