FIVE YEARSSSS 😭🔑🤍

Five years of praying.
Five years of waiting.
Five years of wondering when it would finally be my turn.

This journey didn’t start with an apartment… it started with a dream of owning a house. Along the way, I experienced disappointment, heartbreak, setbacks, financial mistakes, unexpected motherhood, and more tears than I can count. There were seasons where I questioned everything, but God never stopped working behind the scenes.

For years I chased doors that would never open, until God gave me the peace to let them go. When I finally surrendered my plans to Him, He opened the right door.

On June 26, 2026, God handed me the keys. 🔑

Today, my daughter has her own room, we have our own safe and peaceful home, and my heart is overflowing with gratitude.

This apartment is more than four walls, it’s a reminder that God keeps His promises, His timing is perfect, and starting over is never the end of the story.

If you’re in a waiting season, don’t give up. God hasn’t forgotten you. Keep trusting Him. Your testimony may take longer than you expected, but when God opens the door, no one can shut it. 🤍

“Dang Deja, how did you get that big?”

THIS IS MY STORY:
After I had my daughter, my focus became nourishing her. I lost focus on myself because I was all in on her.

Becoming a mom unexpectedly doesn’t give you the luxury of getting it all together before the baby comes. We go through so many changes mentally, emotionally, and physically, all while carrying the weight of the world’s expectations of how quickly we should “bounce back.” Many people don’t understand the magnitude of what a woman’s body endures during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.

I mentally clocked out of my own world and started building one for my daughter.

Yes, I lost myself because I needed to eat more to produce more breast milk.

Yes, I lost myself because I had to disconnect from negative emotions so my baby wouldn’t feel that energy.

Yes, I lost myself because I needed to pour love, attention, comfort, and security into my daughter so she could thrive.

We go through so much as mothers. We sacrifice more than people will ever fully understand.

So treat us well. Be patient with us. Tell us we’re beautiful.

We deserve that 💗🫶🏾

The most beautiful thing in this world is being your mommy. You make me want to be a better woman every single day. You push me to be a woman of integrity, to never settle, and to continue going after the life I’ve always dreamed of. Mia, mommy adores you so much, and I thank God every day that I stood firm in my beliefs and chose you, because there is so much inside of you that God knew I would need.

It’s amazing how someone so small can carry the very things your heart needs most. I love you endlessly, and I’m forever grateful that God chose me to be your mommy.
