My fifth Dekker album will be released on 19 February 2027. It’s called Man on the Mend.

I started writing what I thought was LP5 back in 2024, but life throughout 2024 and 2025 was harrowing on a personal level. The album took time to find its shape and I felt I needed to start again early this year. Somewhere along the way, new ideas began coming together into something that feels more like me than anything I’ve made before.

I absolutely love this album and I’m really proud of it. It sounds warm, woody, rhythmic, a little playful in places, totally human and me all the way through.

I’m soo very excited to begin sharing it with you. You have no idea!

The album is available to preorder now on vinyl, CD and cassette. There’s even a T shirt!

So much good news this week, I’m up to my 👁️👁️ in dopamine! ;-)
And yet, there’s more!

I’ve got a bunch of UK dates this February to celebrate the release of Man on the Mend, starting in Nottingham on album release day! Whoop!

Last November’s UK tour was a rough one, I’m not gonna lie. I came home genuinely unsure whether I could make UK touring work for me.

Then I was asked to play @chaiwallahs / @greenmanfest. After that was announced, some new UK followers started joining the Dekkerverse and a few UK webshop orders came through. It felt like I was finding my people here. That gave me a bit of hope and I thought, I have to try again.

So here I am, putting these dates together. Most are venue hire shows, which means I’m paying for the rooms, staff, etc. I’m the promoter too. I’ve picked small rooms that I think make sense for where I’m at, and I’m really looking forward to being in them with you.

One thing I will ask: if you know you want to come, please buy your tickets early. It really helps ease my anxiety, helps me plan and gives me a bit more headspace for making music. Which is the bit we’re all here for, really.

So, are you in? The ticket links are live. Go get ’em, tigers!

The other day, I was asked by a radio station to record an intro to my new song and, well, I got a little carried away… I put on a tie and things escalated.

Morning, folks. The full video for Pick It Up, Put It Back is up on YouTube now!

We went to the field with a totally different idea of what we were going to do. After a while, we decided to do a run-through of me just performing the song. It felt so natural and fun that we did it twice more and chose the performance that felt best. That became the video.

I love these one-shot videos. There’s no hiding. I think this one captures a fun, unpolished energy that I’m really happy with. Human stuff.

You can watch the full thing through the link in my bio. Thanks for having a look and a listen!

Pick It Up, Put It Back is out now!

This is the first Dekker song I wrote on electric guitar. I liked how it felt in the room and got into a groove with a seventh-chord progression. I ended up writing four songs that day. There’s electric guitar, bass and drums on this one, but it still feels whispery to me. I’ve been referring to it as my disco-folk song.

The lyrics speak directly about my hesitations and insecurities as a husband, father, friend and artist. Making plans, taking steps, hesitating, tripping awkwardly over my feet and somehow making it through… pretty much sums it up.

I’m excited about the record this comes from. I wrote, played, produced and recorded it myself, working quickly and following my nose. That’s how I like to work. I’m proud of this perfectly imperfect work. Zach Hanson (@hansonzj) mixed and mastered the record. I’m always grateful for what he brings to these songs.

This is the second single from my fifth album, Man on the Mend, coming on 19 February. I think y’all will enjoy this one. Thanks for having a listen. Link in bio by @dekker.brookln

Would you like to interview me?

Man on the Mend is my fifth album as Dekker, and before it comes out on 19 February, I’d like to invite five of you to hear it early.

One listener each month will have a week to spend with a private link to stream the album. Then we’ll meet on Zoom (or something like that) and you can ask me five questions about the songs, how they came together, or where I find myself these days. We’ll record our conversations and share them as we head towards the release.

It always amazes me how people find their own stories in these songs. I’d love to hear what catches your attention and what it makes you want to ask.

If you fancy being one of the five, let me know in the comments. You don’t need any interviewing experience. You bring the questions. I’ll do my best with the answers. 🫶🏻 by @dekker.brookln

Winchester, I’m playing at @railwaylive on 22 October! This is my last show of the year with tickets still available. Come and spend an evening with me. I’d love to see you there.

There are a few new dates up my sleeve, too. More on those soon, but my mailing list and Patreon folk will hear first. Both are free to join.. by @dekker.brookln

Carried Away from the Hamburg Listening Room Session.

You can hear a few gentle “whoos” coming back at me from the room of lovelies. That’s one of my favourite bits. Thank you for singing with me.

And to everyone who was able to grab a Listening Room ticket, thanks so much for coming along. It warmed my heart to play these songs in such a connective atmosphere. I floated away from both nights on good vibes. by @dekker.brookln

I’ve played this song in a bunch of rooms this year. Here it is without walls.

Carried Away, out in the open. Have a sing with me.

In a wild contrast to the previous two nights, last night I found myself playing in a winter storage hall for yachts, transformed into a venue for @studio.am.see. I had a great time and met so many lovely folk!

This weekend in Germany has been tremendous. From the quiet listening rooms to this, thank you so much to everyone who hosted us and everyone who came along. These last three nights have filled my cup.

See ya next time!

Yesterday was my birthday, marking the completion of my 47th cycle around the sun. It was also the second Listening Room Session.

The audience surprised me with two Dekker-hat-shaped birthday cakes, and as soon as I stepped on stage they began singing Happy Birthday. It was lovely and unexpected. I hope I showed my gratitude, but I was caught off guard and I’m not sure I got it right. That little niggle has been bouncing around my head all night. Anyway, I really appreciated it, even if I made a weird face and acted awkwardly. Thank you!

The rest of the show was fun too. I felt less nervy than I had the night before. An artist friend I’ve known for 18 years came with his 12-year-old daughter. It was so nice to see them, and it brought me warmth.

Across these two sessions, I tried out quite a few new songs, new arrangements and new keys. It all felt fruitful, connective and fun.

It’s easy to feel lost and misunderstood and scared in the mad news and noise of the world. These two shows were calm spots where we were able to notice one another and react humanly in ways that felt smooth and natural. My mental picture of these nights is something like slomo. Gentle, moody and safe.

Thank you so much for coming along to these shows! Thank you to @bodega_studio_kveln for hosting us last night.

Folks, I’ve got a lot of great songs and things to share over the next few months. Thank you for being here for it.
