When you want a quick fix, paint is still your best option. It did however take two men five days of taping the walls to get it perfect! #benjaminmoore #cabanastripes #tuxedopark #tentedroom #bathroominspiration taken in Tuxedo Park, New York by @delatorredesign

I first studied Sagamore Hill through photographs and architectural drawings, drawn to its inventive shingle detailing and beautifully crafted banister railings while researching historic restoration techniques for similar homes in Tuxedo Park. Somehow, despite that familiarity, I had never actually visited. Seeing these details in person today was a reminder that no book or photograph can fully capture the craftsmanship and presence of a truly great historic house. Sagamore Hill is one of America’s most important examples of late 19th-century residential architecture—not because of its grandeur, but because of its authenticity. Designed by the New York firm Lamb & Rich and completed in 1885, the house is a masterful blend of Shingle Style and Queen Anne architecture, with asymmetrical massing, broad porches, and a natural, informal relationship to its landscape.

Beyond its architectural merit, Sagamore Hill became Theodore Roosevelt’s “Summer White House,” where world leaders were received and major diplomatic decisions—including negotiations that helped end the Russo-Japanese War—were conducted. Remarkably, the house remains largely intact with its original furnishings, making it one of the country’s best-preserved presidential homes and an enduring symbol of American architecture at the turn of the 20th century. #sagamorehill #lambandrich #theodoreroosevelt #shinglestylearchitecture #gentlemansfarm taken in Sagamore Hill National Historic Site by @delatorredesign

TBT to this chic NY Loft we finished not so long ago. Love that Molenschot light sculpture over my custom dining table and chairs. And the first time I had worked with the Portuguese marvel Babled in creating that coffee table. Paul Micheal Graves sliding wall mural commands the room. #carpentersworkshopgallery #frederikmolenschot #emanuelbabled #dianaalhadid #kravet by @delatorredesign

I attended Prada Mode New York 2026, the 14th edition of Prada’s traveling cultural platform. This year’s program, titled “Satellites II,” transformed the historic Hotel Chelsea into an immersive exhibition created by filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn and game designer Hideo Kojima. The event blends art, film, performance, music, and technology, exploring themes of love, language, creativity, and human connection through a retro-futuristic, science-fiction lens.

I thought I’d use this moment to celebrate the iconic Hotel Chelsea- one of New York City’s most legendary cultural landmarks. Opened in 1884, it became famous as a long-term residence and gathering place for artists, writers, musicians, and filmmakers. Over the decades, figures such as Bob Dylan, Patti Smith, Leonard Cohen, Arthur Miller, Janis Joplin, and Andy Warhol were associated with the hotel, helping cement its reputation as a center of bohemian and creative life in New York. The building itself is notable for its Victorian Gothic architecture and distinctive wrought-iron balconies.

Part of what makes the Prada event particularly fitting is that Hotel Chelsea has always been a place where art, music, literature, and unconventional creativity intersect. Prada Mode’s temporary transformation of the hotel into a living cultural club echoes the building’s historic role as a hub for creative experimentation and collaboration. #eclecticdecor #pradafoundationmilan #prada #hotelchelsea by @delatorredesign
