Rehab Italia presenta The Garbage Game! Da un’idea di Delayed Sentence, portata alla luce negli studi della radio online Amsterdam Most Wanted con uno show settimanale poi diventato podcast, The Garbage Game è, prima di tutto, una sfida amichevole fra due DJ in cui la regola principale prevede che nessuno conosca la playlist con cui suonerà, in quanto scelta ad hoc dalla parte opponente: un back to back insolito che è anche esercizio di improvvisazione, lavoro di squadra, e prova di conoscenza tecnica e talento musicale. Le regole cambiano e così anche il setup - e per questo speciale i nostri studi sono stati messi sottosopra per ospitare un setup face to face. Il primo episodio è un hybrid set dei BTWN NTWRX, al secolo Kucera e Delayed Sentence: 90 minuti di techno feroce, in un mix di musica inedita e musica creata in tempo reale. by @delayedsentence

@btwn_ntwrx nasce dall'incontro tra @kucera_ancientartefactlive e @delayedsentence, trasformando una serie di sessioni B2B in un progetto techno costruito tra jam, improvvisazione e hardware. Li abbiamo intervistati per entrare nel loro metodo di lavoro e capire come due percorsi differenti siano arrivati a costruire un linguaggio comune. [link in bio] Il loro processo riduce al minimo la scrittura prestabilita: groove, struttura e progressione prendono forma in tempo reale, mettendo in relazione DJing e performance live. Un approccio sviluppato progressivamente dall'intesa in consolle e diventato centrale anche nella produzione. La discografia comprende "BRVTL HNST" su Tar Hallow e "Difference Threshold EP" su Eclectic Limited; parallelamente, i due lavorano anche come Kucera & Delayed Sentence, firma utilizzata per produzioni nate attraverso un processo differente rispetto alle jam di BTWN NTWRX. I’m finally done gathering up thoughts and feelings about what I think was the best edition of @waofestivalofficial of all those I attended - and according to what I’ve been hearing around, probably the best edition ever. Sometimes downsizing is everything you need to keep your greatness durable in time and I truly hope WAO Festival stays as is, intimate and independent. To me, this edition has meant several things: for the first time ever I embraced a “no phone policy” and lived the moment (thank you lack of network coverage!), so there’s really no footage taken and it’s totally fine. As a DJ, it’s meant taking up the responsibility of closing a stage, which was also a first for me. It’s meant competing with a main stage that relentlessly plays what the crowd is really there for. It’s meant offering to that same crowd a different take on psychedelic music, a break from triplet kick drums and morphing fractals in exchange for the soothing reassurance that only a 4/4 rhythm can provide. It’s meant curating the most ad hoc selection for all the reasons above, and doing my utmost best playing it out for those who graced the dancefloor with their presence and moves, until the sun was out. It’s meant rethinking my solo sound as a bridge between #technomusic and the #psychedelicculture, 2 elements that have been defining who I am for 2 decades, in one unique narrative that can speak to both worlds, because it comes from both.
