There’s been a word thrown around a lot in my life and it’s been “complacency” and if I’m being honest I never really knew the realness of it, as it’s constantly running through my head I began to ask the Lord “show me what that means.” And as my days go by my eyes open to the reality that I’m living in it, I wake up pray to God, go to work, the gym, etc. I try to make Jesus the center of it all. But there was something missing, I was complacent, I wasn’t looking for new ways to serve the Lord, I was moving in routine, I had everything together, but I was missing the wonder, the wonder that leads to desire, the desire that leads to hunger, the hunger that leads to a step. I was okay with what I had, not knowing that God has more, He is more, more than the things we think will keep us satisfied, the things we think we are meant to control, but maybe that’s not what we were made for. As long as I’ve walked with Jesus one thing He’s always asked for was my heart, but why? Why not just work and work and do all the good things and image myself as the perfect Christian? Because we were never made to work ourselves up to God, we were never meant to follow Americas image of Christianity, chase and chase after things pushing aside the will of God, finally get what we want, and then thank Jesus for giving it to us, but have we ever looked back at the damage we caused trying to get to things that only benefit us? No, because we are selfish. The will of God isn’t what we do with our lives, the job we have, the friends we make, the will of the father is our heart behind how we live, so is it given to Him? I believe complacency creeps in when we start giving our heart to things that aren’t necessarily bad, but they aren’t God, it can easily turn routines into a god, it can easily take the ministry God has placed you in into the thing you think you now have control over, but that’s never been His will, you are not the god of your life. So what am I taking out of this? I only have one prayer. (Finished in comments) by @delaynie_tayte

This Job has truly changed me as a human being, and it’s only because of Jesus, I smile more at people, I say I love you more, and I don’t stay surface level when it comes to understanding and loving people around me, thank you Jesus for life skills, because I needed these babies and I didn’t even know it, I needed this family and I don’t even know it, I see God more clearly being in a place where I come to them and meet them where they are at, because it reminds me of the man that does the same for me, Jesus. He has used them to show me how to love harder, care deeper, and serve selflessly, and it’s so freeing, and I will never be silent about the love that saved me and I now, get to share that same love with kids that make it so easy to love them, I see Gods creation now as something so worth defending, ALL people deserve to know who HE IS!! And I will live my life now into heaven trying my best to live a life not of me but of Him, because there needs to be less of me and more of Jesus in this world, so I will be the hands and feet He guides to those who feel misunderstood or unseen, because He’s so so worthy. by @delaynie_tayte

1 year of mabry Anne, i remember when i first saw her in the hospital i was struggling to see the goodness of God, i was doubtful about His presence, but then i saw you, His breathe was in your lungs and His spirit was filling the room, i felt His grace and peace, I got to see the image of God in His daughter, one He has called by name, and I grasped that the Lord also is the breathe in my lungs and He also, has called me by name. Ever since then i cherished life, new life. If mabry has taught me anything it is that it’s okay to laugh at everything, her smile radiates joy that is so pure, it’s sweet, it’s refreshing. I thank God for a year of being able to laugh with her, pray over Her, and pour out the love of Jesus into her sweet little life, and God keeps showing me more and more about myself through her, so thank you sweet love, for your laugh, smile and always saying “dada” when I tell you to say “nene”. I don’t have the words to say how much i love you, so I will continue to show you, teach you, serve you, and I will help lead you in the way that you should go, praying that you grow to know the God that made you, loves, and died for you, mabry Anne, aunty nene loves you so much.
