L U B B E R . K I T C H E N x A M B O . C L U B

Next Friday 🕯️

I’ll be playing a two-hour set from 6–8pm at Lubber Kitchen × Ambo Club, alongside Sami J and Lee B.

Banquet tables, low-light feasting and plenty of strange, warm and wonky records, can . not . wait . 🫶✨💫

Björk once described Homogenic as music built from “emotional landscapes.”

Living between glaciers, volcanic fields and vast empty space in Iceland shaped the atmosphere she wanted the record to hold, something both beautiful and violent.

To help realise that sound she collaborated with Mark Bell, one half of LFO and part of the Warp Records electronic scene. Together they fused sweeping strings with raw electronic beats🫶🫶

You can hear it throughout Homogenic, and see it visualised perfectly in the video for Jóga, where shifting landscapes mirror the emotional pressure of the music.

Sometimes a place, a vision, and the right collaboration can reshape the sound of an era 🌋 #bjork #homogenic

Five Autechre remixes I keep returning to. Something about their remixes completely reshapes the original track.

Listening while running through fields felt appropriate 😅🌽

Autechre + Mari Hamada -- アイレ可愛や (Aire Kawaiya) 1997

D’Breeze - Crazy For Love (Autechre remix)1999

Anodyne - Close your eyes (Autechre Corporation Street rmx) (2010)

Sensational Meets Kouhei - Sensachre 10 Mix (Autechre Remix)2006

SOPHIE - BIPP (æ remix) 2021

What’s your favourite Autechre remix?
