Last Sunday I had to say goodbye to Onion semi-suddenly. He was diagnosed with Lymphoma in October but was doing very well until he wasn’t. We were the best of friends since I brought him home in August 2021 right after moving to Philly. He loved to follow me around, give hugs and go on walks in his stroller but most of all he loved stealing any unattended carbs. I’m so grateful he was able to accompany me back to San Diego and that he hung on until I got settled. I will miss him so much. by @deldoesprops

Behind the scenes at Winterthur, there’s a dedicated team that brings our galleries to life. From meticulous preparation to expert installation, they’re the backbone of our exhibitions.

In this installment of Field Notes, we’re proud to highlight Winterthur preparator Del Hanson (they/them). Join Del for a glimpse into the fascinating world of exhibitions and the preparation of “Transformations: Contemporary Artists at Winterthur.”

Thought I’d try my hand at the @designwithinreach Champagne Chair Contest. Made this mini copy of the Risom Outdoor Side Chair out of two champagne corks and one piece of champagne foil. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! #dwrchampagnechair by @deldoesprops
