Be sure to catch the important documentary film “Donyale Luna: Supermodel” - about the very first Black model to appear on the covers of Harper's Bazaar (1965) and Vogue (1966). Full story on how her unique grace and beauty challenged racists in America, coming out of the civil rights era, whilst making waves in Europe in the 1960s and early 1970s. Great to hear perspectives from award-winning writer, Constance White @officislcwhite and Canada’s @aurorajames of @brothervellies. Times are changing but the stigma of course persists.

The great #contralto #singer Marian Anderson by #RichardAvedon - By waiting for the moment when Anderson closed her eyes, #Avedon was able to suggest her intense inner concentration on the song and to allow us, the viewer, to focus on her mouth.
