One of Paris' not so hidden gems, often overshadowed by the nearby Louvre and d'Orsay, is the Musee de L'Orangerie. The permanent collection with large oval rooms designed by Monet to surround the viewer with his curved waterlilies paintings and the lower floor with works donated by the collector and Gallerist Paul Guillaume is unique. Wasn't planning to drive from Nantes and climb to the church at the top of Mt. Sant Michel on the same day but the rainy and windy weather forecast for the next day changed my plans. The surprising Musee d'Arts de Nantes has a varied collection housed in an expansive, beautifully renovated, building. The modern section has a collection of Kadinsky and Klee's works which I always enjoy. #museedartsnantes #nantes by @delee51

The Tate Modern's "Frida - The Making of an Icon" exhibition showed her influence on artists and commerce to this day. Truly one of the first using her own image as "influencers" so commonly do today. #fridakahlo #tatemodern by @delee51

The city of Bath has beautiful Georgian buildings and one could walk around for days admiring them. Well before they were built the sites of Stonehenge and the Roman Baths were there. While visiting take time to talk to the guides and on site staff who will happily provide interesting insights on their histories. #stonehenge #romanbaths #bath by @delee51

The walls of York Minster contain one quarter of all the medieval stained glass in Europe. The great east window is as large as a tennis court and tells the Old Testament stories of the Creation of the World on the top and the Apocalypse lower down. The 13th century Chapel House addition surrounds you with stained glass. #yorkminster #york by @delee51
