Agentforce: Anchor in clarity, act on ambiguity.

When designing agents in Agentforce, the key is balancing the spectrum of decision-making. Here’s a simple framework to follow:

1️⃣ What’s Defined: Configure agents to handle predictable, structured workflows using intents and entity recognition—like identifying account records or product SKUs—so they can reduce manual effort and streamline processes.

2️⃣ What’s Rules-Based: Design agents to trigger Salesforce Flows for tasks that rely on structured logic, such as pricing calculations or enforcing business rules. These ensure precision and repeatability where it matters most.

3️⃣ What’s Not Defined: Build agents to surface insights—like trends, historical data, or related options—and provide a defined list of choices for users to make informed decisions in gray areas where human judgment is key.

The result? Agents that bring clarity to structured tasks, precision to rules-based processes, and confidence to judgment-based decisions.

Understanding what’s defined, rules-based, and undefined is essential to building agents that empower smarter, faster decisions.

How are you designing your agents? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

"Messy integrations lead to messy decisions."

I’ve seen this firsthand: A team’s #HubSpot-to-#Salesforce integration wasn’t properly aligned.

❌ Leads flowed in without checks, creating duplicates.
❌	Marketing struggled to segment prospects.
❌	Sales didn’t trust the pipeline.
❌	Leadership questioned the ROI of their spend.

Fixing this isn’t about overhauling your system—it’s about taking small, intentional steps:

1️⃣ Map your fields upfront and align with stakeholders to define what this data represents.
2️⃣ Use tools; in this case, Traction Complete or LeanData to automate lead qualification and prevent duplicates.
3️⃣ Schedule quarterly system audits to keep your integrations clean and your data actionable.

Clean systems don’t just save you time—they build trust across your entire organization. And when your systems are aligned, your decisions are too.

“What’s an annoyance today will be your anchor tomorrow.”

#Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff recently said, ‘As we get into this next level of AI, it can’t just run off of a large language model (LLM). It has to be grounded into the customer data and metadata itself.’

But here’s the truth: AI can’t succeed if you can’t translate customer experience into customer data.

One of the biggest challenges I see is the ‘Journey-Data Disconnect’—where the customer journey isn’t clearly tied to the underlying data model.

Here’s how it shows up:
-From the technical side: Teams restructure data models to optimize reporting but inadvertently add complexity to the customer journey. Suddenly, sales reps can’t track lead progression, and deals take longer to close.
-From the business side: Sales teams push process changes without considering how pipeline data feeds into forecasting tools, analytics platforms, or finance systems, creating misalignment that snowballs into bigger issues.

That’s why you should always start with the customer journey first. Any change you make to your systems should map back to this. From there, refine your data model, tighten automations, and improve integrations.

Skipping these steps is death by a thousand cuts. Fix the small annoyances now, or they’ll anchor you tomorrow. by @delegate_team

🦃 An #MVP isn’t viable unless it’s valuable 🍁

Earlier, I talked about focusing on ‘good enough’ to drive progress, and many of you shared how this applies to MVPs—Minimum Viable Products.

I’ve seen it all too often: project milestones and MVPs that are defined by technical feasibility instead of business capability:

❌ “Contact records cleanup project”

But what does that really mean for the business? A true MVP delivers measurable outcomes. Instead say:

✅ “Contact record cleanup leading to email marketing bounce rates reducing from 5% to 2% by the end of Q1.”

When milestones are based on technical convenience or technical builds, the hardest, most valuable work often gets punted to later phases. This leads to incomplete progress and diluted value for the business.

Here’s how to rethink your MVPs and milestones:
-Start with outcomes: What measurable result does the business need to achieve?
-Align milestones to business value: How does each step enable the business to act right now?
-Avoid punting critical work: Design MVPs to deliver immediate impact—not just technical progress.

If your MVP isn’t enabling the business, it’s time to rethink what’s truly “viable.”

Let’s focus on what’s valuable.

Good enough is often great.

Over-engineering is one of the fastest ways to kill momentum. Perfect often becomes the enemy of progress, especially when scaling #Salesforce and #businesssystems. But this isn’t about circumventing critical processes or building unnecessary #techdebt — it’s about focusing your energy where it matters most.

Here’s how to move forward intentionally for your next project or task:

-Define ‘good enough’: Ask yourself, What’s the core problem I’m trying to solve? What’s the simplest solution to address this problem quickly?

-Avoid over-engineering: Progress beats perfection every time—but always with a clear purpose. Design a solution that can scale for the next 6-12 months. Delivering a steady stream of wins to the business fuels the momentum for continuous progression.

-Document for the future: For anything that doesn’t make the initial cut, add it to a centralized backlog and share this roadmap with stakeholders early. Be clear about the risks of delaying these items and set the expectation that they’ll be revisited later.

And remember, what feels ‘good enough’ to you might be exactly what the business needs. Systems aren’t built for perfection—they’re built to serve the business and move it forward. by @delegate_team

Alignment isn’t a task—it’s a practice

According to a study by McKinsey & Company, the primary reason large-scale technology projects fail is because of misalignment between business objectives and IT execution.

We’ve all seen it: tools that create more frustration than progress. The problem isn’t the tools—it’s the lack of alignment. Misaligned priorities and bloated processes aren’t solved by technology—they’re amplified by it.

Here’s how to practice alignment in the weeks ahead:

1. Define success for one task or priority: Ask yourself, What will be true when this is done? Keep it achievable within five days.
2. Understand the why: Pick one recurring task and ask, What value does this create for its users? Document how it impacts the business and identify if any steps can be improved or eliminated within a week.
3. Check alignment: Ask three team members what they think the priority is this week—spend 10 minutes comparing answers and resetting expectations if needed.

Alignment isn’t a one-and-done effort. It’s built through small, intentional habits. Practice alignment, and let technology amplify the right things.

“AI doesn’t need complexity—it needs clarity”

That clarity starts with your data. Poor data management has always been a risk—but in the AI era, it’s a dealbreaker. Disorganized or unclear data doesn’t just slow you down—it amplifies complexity, creating even bigger challenges for AI projects.

Data management isn’t new, but its importance has never been greater. Clean, clearly defined, and well-governed data is the foundation for unlocking AI’s potential.

As #Salesforce #Agentforce World Tour New York kicks off tomorrow, it’s the perfect moment to reflect: Is your data strategy setting you up for clarity—or chaos? by @delegate_team
