POV: you’re attending a weeklong contemporary art + photography field study class in NYC and walking ten miles a day to see art, make photos, learn from other artists, and, time permitting, find the best matcha spots. Shoutout and special thanks @soft_shvde , @andinamarieosorio and @handlinrachel for sharing their work with us; UGA Dodd alum @rosie_brock for giving us an unforgettable tour of @themuseumofmodernart photography archive; @zacrilegious for the tour of @griffin_editions ; @actual_sam_dole for the incredible tintype workshop at @penumbrafoundation ; @paola_fiterre for showing us around @international_museum photo lab and darkroom; and @delilahppics for making this video! See you next year 🗽✌️ by @delilahppics

Thank you so much to everyone who were able to view my piece! meant so much to me <3 and thank you to everyone who has supported me through out my time at UGA!

A very special thank you to all the bands who I was very lucky to work with: The Gringos, Schmooze, YesDear and RecessParty! This work wouldnt be able to exist without their amazing energy!

These are my favorite images from the piece and excerpt:

The drummer striking the cymbals until their drumsticks splinter and break apart, the sweat and fast movements, that feel like they’re about to punch through their drum. The aftermath of passing the broken splintered sticks to a fan. I photograph these moments of tenderness, chaos, and intensity that comes with live performance.

I photograph the experience of performing music as a band, viewing the concert, and the anticipation of before and aftermath, an exchange of energy between the viewer and performance. by @delilahppics

I.I EPHEMERA
Ephemera refers to things and experiences that are transient, momentary, and impermanent. It can be used to capture the brief beauty of a blooming spring, the temporary wonders of childhood, or even the short-lived notes in a song. By focusing on this sense of simplicity and beauty, this passing phase can become a foundation for understanding the deeper and more complex truths of our lives.

Hey! My series will be on display at the BFA Exit Show “Everything Now”, in the Margie E. West Gallery on the first floor of the Lamar Dodd!

My work explores the experience of performing music as a band, viewing the concert, and the anticipation of before and aftermath: an exchange of energy between the viewer and performance!

Cant wait for yall to see! by @delilahppics
