Meet @delon_222 …one of ours.

Delon is a people manager and community organizer. However, he is most widely known for his work in securing safe spaces for the LGBTQ community here in Seattle…particularly in the ballroom scene, where he is a member of the @houseofstlaurent , a ballroom house established in 1982 to provide community, housing, and a safe space for radical, free self-expression in New York.

In moments like these, where self-expression, personal freedom, and all types of phobias are on the rise—Delon, as busy as he is, as marginalized as he is, persists.

Not within the confines of limitation, but beyond them.

He rises every morning, leaving behind excuses, bigotry, and hate, and actively chooses himself: in a world that often suggests he shouldn’t.

To choose to breathe… but not only breathe,to thrive as a Gay Black man, is a radical act of self-love.

He rises above the noise. Above the naysayers. Above anything that says he’s not. And there is so much that tries to suggest that he is not….that we are not enough.

Yet still, he rises.Every morning. To celebrate his life. And choose to breathe.

Commendable? No-Honorable? Better yet,both.

So happy to welcome you to the club, Delon.

KESHAWN “SHAWNY JUICY COUTURE” CARLOS

A life lived, even if it was short, Shawny made sure to live in every moment. So many in ballroom remember him for his kindness, his presence, his beauty, and how he stood ten toes down for his family and friends.

As we move through the years, he has never been forgotten. His story still lives on through so many dark-skinned, beautiful Black boys and men. Shawny touched everyone who crossed his path.

On 11.18.2023, at The Iconic House of Juicy Couture Ball, Pretty Boy Realness was dedicated to Shawny. That’s impact. That’s legacy.

BROWN & BLACK BOYS always remember: you are pretty, you are loved 🫶🏾
