A little experiment in growing together 🌴

We started with three tiny tamarisks on Delphinia beach. Two are still with us.

Growing a tree so close to the sea isn’t easy so we’re learning as we go. asking for advice and trying to give them the best possible chance.

But our favourite part has been something we didn’t quite expect: 𝗬𝗼𝘂.

We left a watering can on the beach with some instructions and invited anyone passing by to give them some water or help build a little protective wall around them.

And people did. 💛

Little by little, the list of “Friends of the Tamarisk” has been filling up.

Thank you to everyone who has watered them, moved stones, left a name, sent us a photo or simply stopped to see how they’re doing ☀️

Two little trees, looked after by many hands. And hopefully, many more to come. 🌱

This picture is from last winter. This is Deborah. ❤️

She was very ill and shaking from the cold. She fell 3 times. Before Izzie gave us the big, warm, queen-looking blanket..

we were using a sleeping bag, with a thick shower curtain over the top, trying to keep her warm.

Now, as long as the sun is shining, she is happy. ☀️

But this winter we want to be better prepared for her. A proper shelter is the next thing we need to make happen.
