Pop Up: Swamp Bar

Thank you again for the invitation to the soft opening of the new addition to The Second Line Family. This emulate food and drink menu does not disappoint!

@wutinthasamhill has curated some amazing cocktails that you have to go and partake in!!

They are currently looking at being open Wednesday to Saturday 5pm-until. It is the building located beside Second Line with the dragon on the door.

The crawfish dumplings 🥟 were packed with flavor and a subtle spicy kick.

The Yakamein Nola Noodles melted in your mouth! The beef was so tender and the broth was so good you will be tempted to drink it out the bowl.

The shrimp and coconut grits were mouth watering! The braised greens had the best taste with a nice vinegar taste.

The Korean Wings & Swamp Burger were a crowd favorite and I can’t wait to get my hands on them soon.

Absolutely enjoyed Brooks Museum Social last night. The band was absolutely amazing and engaging. The Black American Portraits Exhibit was intriguing with the different styles of art. If you haven’t been please check it out before the end of the year.

Experience it with someone else! Split up for five minutes and find the portrait that speaks to you. Then explore the museum together unlocking your thoughts. You’d be surprised the conversation these pieces bring up. taken in Memphis Brooks Museum of Art by @deltabloomed

August 2017: I started a journey to become a nurse. Moved home and started over for a life long dream.

April 2022: Got denied graduation due to one point on an exit exam.

August 2022: Walked across the stage for my BSN. Delayed not denied because he has the final say so in everything!

July 2023: After many trials and tribulations I have finally reached the other side.

Don’t give up on your dreams. Know that your timing is not his timing and it will be alright. My challenges don’t define me… my perseverance does. I told my dear friend who was not able to finish nursing school that this degree and license was ours not just mine. Tavenia may not be earthside any more but heaven needs nurses too! I’ve lost so many things and people over the last six years. Even almost lost my mind but God!!!

Supper Club Friend Date Recap

Let me start by saying I highly recommend making a reservation!! We made ours a month in advance due to our schedules.

Service was a 10/10! Our server Star took excellent care of us. When the plates arrived to table every element was piping hot from start to finish. We definitely plan to make a reservation for a few months out to try a few more menu items.

Flashback Friday

October was a full month! Full of good food, great vibes, and heavy poured drinks 💙.

Today I wanted to take it back to one of the amazing events I had the pleasure of attending. The @pinknicmemphis did not disappoint!! @apluseventsandconsulting birth an event that shall become a staple in the MidSouth! I definitely suggest you start getting your decor in advance. When presale ticket go on sale get them!!! Because like wine this event will only get better with time.

Fancy’s Fish Review

Last week before the Kevin Hart Show I had the pleasure of enjoying a meal at @fancysfishhouse .

The reservation process was straight to the point. Definitely suggest reservations on the weekend!

The staff was amazing and helpful. The food was seasoned to perfect and the drinks were potent.

The deviled egg relish with my salmon was everything !!!

When life gives you lemons …..

Make a margarita or something like that, lol.

I joke a lot about how new grad life is for the birds. However, in reality it’s all I’ve ever wanted. Sometimes I feel like that I’m not being the best nurse. Then my patients or another external source motivates me. When I get overwhelmed with the never ending circle of task, I am reminded that anything can be accomplished one step at a time.

So the next time life tries to sour your spirit with its acid… add some flavor to sweeten the pot!
