Now that we’re all feeling better after a sick week, we’re easing back into all our favourite things.
Cosy sweaters, slow brunches, noticing the golden morning light, autumn roses, afternoons in the garden and quintessential films.
A little more of the simple things that make this season feel like home. 💕 by @demi.giannios

writer’s notes, lately.

a little corner of the house, the changing light, and a few gathered things for inspiration. my October moodboard — thoughts on the season, the beauty of beginning again, and finding my way back to the page.

so much life unfolds beyond the windowsill—the trees change, the light shifts, the seasons come and go.

somehow, this small view from my kitchen has become its own way of keeping time.

bringing warmth back indoors and i am starting with the kitchen. clearing counters, refilling jars, making room for slower cooking and warmer days ahead 🍂🫙

isn’t it funny how we find new rhythms (or return to familiar ones) with the slightest shift?

for me, september brings my favorite slow mornings—the familiar room, the familiar bistro table. autumn’s version of calming the nervous system.

September, the sweetest in-between.

Unlike the Septembers I grew up with in Canada, here it arrives slowly—soft hues of yellow in the mornings, the sea warm enough, windows still open & freddo espressos in hand.

Notes on a return to routines and a reminder that the ordinary days are the life.

friday, in a greek heatwave.

early errands, a cold freddo, vegetables from the market.

by midday — shutters closed, gemista in the oven 🍅, and the house goes quiet.

summer, in its hottest form. by @demi.giannios

back at the familiar bistro table — cooler mornings, small shifts, and i get so excited every time.

slower sundays do the nervous system good. 🍋🌊 by @demi.giannios

Woke up early. Coffee. Breakfast, then talked my son into a morning swim before the day got away from us.

The beds stayed unmade. The cups and dishes sat right where we left them.

I read between dips. He had his music, his game, his own little world a few feet away.

peaches 🍑 in the afternoon, burgers for lunch.

Naxos, again! 🩵

There are so many things we love about Naxos—here are a few things worth noting that shouldn’t be missed:

•Chora with everything just a walk away,
•Spend a half-day in the mountain villages (start from Apeiranthos, Filoti for lunch & galaktobouriko in Chalki as you head back to Chora)
• Naxos cheeses (favourite with truffle)
•Try Kitron from a distillery running since 1915 @promponas_distillery
•Sunset at Portara to close out the day, still the best seat on the island.
