I’m really intentional about whom I spend and how I spend my time with. When I spoke aloud this being my year of Gratitude, I also prayed that those who are for me be revealed and those who are not be removed. Towards the end of May, I had a major health scare. I don’t bring my blues on this app because I realize that sometimes social media is a form of escapism. This is the highlight reel. I got quiet. Those who truly know me noticed. I opened up to a few because I didn’t want to admit I was vulnerable and scared. Without hesitation @crystalm82 stepped in. Imagine a friend that lives an hour away surprising you with a @doordash delivery when you are too weak to get out of bed. Imagine having a friend who gets @oliviadeano tickets for your birthday in January when the concert isn’t until July because she knows how much you love her music beyond the melody and can’t stop going on about the songwriting. I don’t have to imagine because that’s the friend I have. I am eternally grateful for an evening of singing, dancing, laughing, crying, and being in the moment. Just one request to the magnificent @oliviadeano PLEASE add “Be My Own Boyfriend” to the set list. Actually, if you did I might have rushed the stage to join you….carry on. PS, I want us all to win. Happy 35th Anniversary to @theabbeyweho 🥂I cannot tell you how many fun nights I’ve had here with some of the best people I’ve been able to encounter on this journey we call life.
