The late Ole Anderson’s reputation preceded him. Bill Eadie actually worked with him.

A tough competitor with a sharp mind for wrestling, Ole had strong opinions about how things should be done, and wasn’t shy about making them known.

In this clip from DemoPOD’s The Masked Superstar Deep Dive, Part 2, Bill shares his experience working with Ole and following his creative direction. It’s the kind of firsthand perspective I love getting to hear on this show.

What’s your most memorable Ole Anderson match, promo, or storyline? 👇

Part 2 of our Deep Dive into the Masked Superstar is now streaming on YouTube and all podcast platforms:

We pick up right where left off in part 1 as Bill shares some poignant and and at time very funny memories about his days as The Masked Superstar working with Ole Anderson, a young Roddy Piper and Jimmy Snuka. Then we jump to his WWE run in 1983 where he is immediately thrust into a feud with Bob Backlund for the WWF title, that culminates in the Masked Superstar being the VERY FIRST challenger to Hulk Hogan’s WWF Championship in 1984.
What was it like working for Vince McMahon Sr as a young Vincent Kennedy McMahon is rising up and ready to take the company to new heights? Bill Eadie gives some never before heard insight. Make sure you subscribe to the #Demopod YouTube channel and check us out wherever you get your podcasts.

A lot of wrestling greats will tell you Bill Eadie was a master of psychology, whether he was in the ring or holding a microphone.

Before he was the loud, boisterous Demolition Ax, he was the cerebral, sinister Masked Superstar. Same man, two completely different ways of getting a crowd invested.

In this clip from Part 1 of our Masked Superstar deep dive on DemoPOD, Bill talks about how the legendary Boris Malenko helped him develop that quiet, deliberate interview style, and how those interviews got people to buy a ticket and see what happened next.

THE MASKED SUPERSTAR DEEP DIVE — PART 1 is NOW STREAMING! 🎙️⭐

The latest episode of DemoPOD: The Demolition Podcast is available now on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeartRadio and wherever you get your podcasts.

Personally, I can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoyed recording this one with Bill Eadie.

As a lifelong WWE and Demolition fan who wasn’t around for The Masked Superstar’s territory run, I’d always heard the stories about just how big a deal the Superstar was. But after sitting down with Bill and really digging into that chapter of his career, one thing becomes crystal clear:

Bill Eadie had already built a Hall of Fame caliber résumé as The Masked Superstar before he ever put on the Demolition Ax face paint.

And Part 1 is PACKED:

⭐ The transition from Bolo Mongol to The Masked Superstar

⭐ How George Scott created the character and the influence Boris Malenko had in helping Bill perfect it

⭐ The story behind the Superstar’s many custom-made masks and capes — made by Bill’s wife’s grandmother!

⭐ The infamous “cigar angle” with The Mighty Igor, and why Antonio Inoki brought Bill to Japan to recreate it

⭐ The absolutely insane 60 & 90 minute cage matches with Blackjack Mulligan — including more than a DOZEN of each. Never been done before or since!

⭐ Memorable programs with Paul Jones, Tommy Rich and Mr. Wrestling II

⭐ The Masked Superstar’s 1983 arrival in WWE and his immediate jump into the main event picture against WWF Champion Bob Backlund

And somehow… we barely scratched the surface.

Part 2 drops next week, and there’s easily enough history for Parts 3 and 4 down the road. If you want them, help us make it happen: drop your favorite Masked Superstar memories and questions in the comments.

Watch or listen now, share it with an old-school wrestling fan, and make sure you LIKE, COMMENT & SUBSCRIBE to the DemoPOD YouTube channel!

Long before Demolition Ax… there was The Masked Superstar. ⭐
