YOUR PATH IS YOURS ALONE.

I had dinner with Ashton Alexander, last night. One of my favorite humans on this planet.

When I moved to Orlando in 1996, she was eight years old, living down the street. I started spending time with her not because I had to, but because I wanted to. We learned to rollerblade together, we learned yoga together. She was just that kind of kid. 😊Pure joy.

She crushed high school, one of the highest GPAs in Central Florida…..and walked right into the University of Florida. We all celebrated and fully expected her to take that big, high paying corporate job after graduation.

She had other plans.

Ashton became a yoga instructor. You can imagine the conversations. 😄 Yep, she is a free spirit for sure!

Today she is one of the top yoga instructors in the world and a globally recognized thought leader in meditation teaching in Tulum, Giza, Bali, Indonesia and beyond. She followed her heart, found her lane, and never looked back.

To my SYNC family hear this:

Success is not one path. It’s not one title. It’s not what someone else imagined for you.

Follow your passion. Go all in. Be the absolute best at it.

I was able to spend a few days in Myrtle Beach this week. Big shout out to Kendra Haag & Mike Cantwell for hosting me!

It is exciting to witness a city experiencing tremendous growth and transformation.

t's Official.... Cooper Carty attended his 1st Mortgage Conference, the Great River MBA in Memphis.

I was not able to attend to see him receive his graduation certificate from the Tennessee Future Leaders program, but proud just the same.

However, some of my absolute favorite women in the industry wrapped their arms around him and made him feel welcome!

I am so grateful, 35 years in this industry has not just been about closing deals and building teams; it has also been about building relationships.
Great relationships are what carry legacy forward even when you are not in the room!

To the Women in my life (and many others) who continue to champion the next generation in the industry... Thank you.

BTW Ladies, I trust the many late-night stories from our first mortgage conferences in the 90's & early 2000's, did not make it to Coopers ears 🙂 by @denesecarty

🗿✨ Talk about a full-circle moment!

While traveling in Japan, I stumbled upon these magnificent MOAI statues and my heart instantly went back to my incredible years at Interfirst (1997–2008), where these iconic figures held such a special place. Seeing them here, thousands of miles from home, felt like the universe winking at me! 😄

Some symbols just follow you through life and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Last week, my daughter closed on her first home in Nashville. A week later, her realtor called.

Not to ask for referrals. Not to request a review. Not to pitch his services.

He called to teach a Florida-born GenZ homebuyer how to protect her pipes from Nashville’s worst freeze in years.

**That’s the difference between transaction and relationship.**

Today, my heart is overflowing with pride. Ally closed on her first home and Cooper a loan officer assistant, was there to hand her the keys.

As a mother, watching your children reach these milestones is indescribable. But as someone who’s spent 35 years in the mortgage industry, I’m reminded why this work matters so deeply.

We don’t just process loans. We don’t just move numbers around. We help people cross thresholds literally and figuratively into new chapters of their lives.

Today, I got to experience both sides of homeownership joy …As a proud mom and as someone who understands the weight of what homeownership means. It’s a reminder that behind every application, every approval, every closing, there’s a dream being realized.

And best of all…. Arnaldo, and I get to be in Nashville this weekend to help Ally move in!!

Twenty years of friendship, four incredible kids who grew up as best friends, and a Christmas tradition that keeps getting sweeter.

Every year, we gather for our Christmas Eve brunch. We head to Winter Park for last-minute shopping, good food, and the kind of quality time that makes the holidays truly special.

There’s something magical about watching our children carry on this tradition together, creating their own memories in the same quaint spots we’ve loved for years. Here’s to the friends who become family and the traditions that remind us what the season is really all about. 🎄
