Before you take that $140 AI job, read what you are giving away.

I came across an AI data collection opportunity some time ago. It was remote and the pay looked attractive, so naturally, I was interested.

But when I got to the contract, I started paying closer attention. I was required to submit 30 approved selfies and 10 approved videos, and the agreement included terms around the use of my images, videos, likeness and derivative versions of the material.

That was when I stopped and asked myself: is this really worth it?

The opportunity was advertised as paying around $139–$140 per hour, but the actual contract stated that the $140 was for the successful submission of the complete package of 30 selfies and 10 videos, subject to quality review. So even the payment wasn't exactly what the headline made it sound like.

But honestly, the money wasn't my biggest concern. It was what I was giving away for it.

Your face is not just another piece of data. Your image and likeness are part of your identity. If you're giving photos and videos to an AI company, you should understand how they can use them, how long they can keep them, and what rights you're giving away.

And I think this is especially important in countries like Nigeria, where $140 can look like a lot of money when you're looking for work or trying to make ends meet. I understand that because the money would have been useful to me too.

But after thinking about it, I decided the short-term payment wasn't worth the uncertainty. So I withdrew. I didn't submit the selfies or videos.

I'm not saying everyone who takes a job like this is making the wrong decision. I'm simply saying read the contract before you click Apply.

We see "$140/hour."
We see "remote job."
We see "AI training."
And we see the money.

But ask yourself: What exactly am I giving them?

Our faces, voices, data and identities have value too.

Read the contract. Understand the rights. Then decide.

I was going about my day, and something came to mind: there is such a thing as helping your helper.

Sometimes, when we ask for help, we imagine the answer will come in the form of someone who simply appears and solves the problem for us. But what if the answer sometimes comes differently? What if, while you are praying for a helper, you meet someone whom you are in a position to help?

Maybe they need something you currently have. Maybe you have access, knowledge, a connection, an opportunity, an introduction, or simply the ability to make something a little easier for them. And you help them. In the moment, it may look like you're just doing something good for another person. But you never really know what that act sets in motion.

That person may go on to become something significant. They may enter rooms you haven't entered yet. They may build something you couldn't have built. They may eventually find themselves in a position to open a door that you will need opened. And years later, you might meet again. They remember you. "You were the person who helped me when I needed it." And suddenly, the help you gave yesterday becomes the help you receive today.

That's why I think we need to look at the people who come into our lives differently. Not everyone who needs your help is a distraction from your own journey. Sometimes, the person you're helping is part of your journey. There is such a thing as helping your helper.

But there's another side to this. Not every ground is good ground. You can give the same seed to two different people and get completely different outcomes. One turns what you give them into something fruitful. Another receives everything and produces nothing from it.

So yes, give. Help people. Be useful. Share what you have when you can. But also learn to discern where you sow. Because every good deed is a seed, and the seed you plant in someone else's life today may be the very thing that creates the person who helps you tomorrow. You never really know what your act of kindness has set in motion. by @denilsonpius

Arsenal has NO European trophies? It’s time to stop the absolute myth and uneducated banter. 🤫🔴

Was scrolling this evening, saw someone running that tired line, and decided to actually dig into the history instead of just arguing blind. Here's what I found:

Let’s use some actual common sense and look at the footballing facts. While the record books get bogged down in technicalities, Arsenal has historically conquered Europe twice in the exact equivalent of today's UEFA Europa League tier.

Before UEFA streamlined everything, these tournaments carried the exact same prestige, weight, and secondary-tier hierarchy as the modern Europa League. And look at the absolute giants we had to go through to lift them:

🏆 1970 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup (The direct predecessor to the Europa League)

To lift this, we didn't get an easy run. We had to physically knock out:

Sporting CP 🇵🇹
Johan Cruyff’s legendary Ajax side 🇳🇱 (Won 3–1 on aggregate!)
Anderlecht 🇧🇪 in a massive comeback final.

🏆 1994 European Cup Winners' Cup (Absorbed directly into the Europa League tier in 1999)

Smashing Standard Liège 10-0 on aggregate.
Shutting down Paris Saint-Germain 🇫🇷 in the semi-finals.
Defeating a world-class, star-studded Parma 🇮🇹 side (Zola, Asprilla, Brolin) 1-0 in the final.

So the next time a rival fan tries to tell you Arsenal has zero pedigree in Europe, remind them that we’ve won the exact equivalent of two Europa League titles—and we did it by beating some of the greatest generational teams in football history.
