It’s hard to put this past week into words. We just returned from Kenya, where it was a privilege to serve alongside an incredible team from Silverdale Baptist Church at Precious Zawadi Academy. We spent our days leading Vacation Bible School, teaching God’s Word, singing, laughing, playing soccer and games, and simply enjoying these amazing children.

Their joy, resilience, and eagerness to learn about Jesus left a lasting impression on all of us. One of the greatest privileges was visiting families in their homes. We saw firsthand the challenges many face every day, yet we also experienced the joy of praying with them, encouraging them, and sharing the hope found in Christ. Those moments will stay with me for a long time.

Perhaps the most overwhelming moment came as we stood on the campus of the new Precious Zawadi Academy. Just one year ago, our team gathered to lay the cornerstone. Today, the school stands nearly complete, and, Lord willing, it will open this January with room for 1,000 children. To watch God bring this vision to life has been humbling. What began as a dream is becoming a place where hundreds, and eventually thousands, of children will receive an excellent education, hear the Gospel every day, and experience the love of Christ.

I leave Kenya overwhelmed with gratitude, for our faithful Kenyan team, for our partners at Silverdale, for everyone who has prayed and given, and most of all for God’s faithfulness. We serve a God who is still changing lives, one child, one family, and one community at a time.

Friends and family, I wanted to share an opportunity that means a lot to our family and invite you to be part of it.

This July, Micah has the opportunity to return to Kenya on a mission trip with our church, Silverdale Baptist. Last summer, he had the incredible privilege of serving in Eldama Ravine with AMG International—helping lead Vacation Bible School, worship, evangelism, and distributing water filters to families in need. It was one of the most impactful experiences of his life. God used that time to stretch his faith, grow his compassion, and deepen his trust in Him.

One of the highlights from last year was being part of the groundbreaking for the AMG Precious Zawadi (“Gift”) School—a Christ-centered school being built to serve children in a community facing significant economic hardship. This summer, the team will return to help lead VBS again and to celebrate the completion and dedication of that school. It’s amazing to see how God is at work.

We’re so grateful for how the Lord is leading Micah, and we’re excited to see what He will do this time.

Happy 50 Years, AMG Guatemala. We had the most amazing week in Guatemala, traveling with friends and partners, visiting projects and homes, participating in the most excellently planned dinner event (thank you Team AMG Guate!), joining in the 5K road race to raise money for their legal work with children, and reflecting on the many many lives impacted by the gospel through so many years of work there. We are so grateful to have served in Guatemala and to continue serving from a distance! by @dennett.brian

Karamoja, Uganda—one of the most remote and poverty-stricken regions I’ve ever seen. The suffering here is immense… hunger, thirst, hopelessness, and the weight of survival etched into the lives of so many. It’s the kind of place that breaks your heart. But in the middle of that hardship, we witnessed something holy. Through AMG’s work, alongside long-time partner Word & Deed Netherlands, we saw glimmers of redemption—children once lost in the shadows now walking in the light. Clean water where there was none. We met students growing up in AMG schools, not only learning to read and write, but learning that they are loved, chosen, and deeply valued by their Heavenly Father. That their lives matter. That they have a future. We also saw parents learning to plan their future, value what they have, and develop a greater vision for their families. It’s in places like Karamoja that the Gospel is not just preached—it’s lived. It feeds, teaches, heals, and dignifies. And it gives people—especially children—hope and the courage to dream. May we never forget that even in the most forgotten corners of the world, God is present. He sees. He knows. And He is moving.
