We made Alex SÜD at the beginning of this year with no budget, a lot of creativity, and an incredible group of people who gave so much to the film.

Today, we’re so proud to share that it has won Best Short Film at the Creative Minds Film Festival.

We’re grateful to every single person who helped us make it. Thank you for your time, talent and trust!

This belongs to all of us 🏆 by @dennisngango

ALEX SÜD, a one-take action short I wrote and produced, premiered in IMAX at @sterkinekor last night as part of the @_nikonsouthafrica Filmmakers Challenge.

A proud moment, not just for me, but for the team that made it possible.

One take means there’s nowhere to hide. It only works if everyone is fully there for each other. That’s exactly what this team did.

To the cast and crew, thank you for showing up the way you did. To @therefinery.post, @tessafordpost, and @tickaboxcreative, thank you for bringing it home with so much care🙏🏾. To @bongani_rsa, thank you for featuring me.

And to everyone who came through last night, that meant a lot.

Proud of this one.

Still reflecting on what a special moment this weekend was 🙌🏾

I Think I Should Say Something, a film I produced with @nomacles__, @blvckxpanda & @sthakgoroge , screened at the @joburg_film_festival in competition for Best Short. Saying that out loud still feels a little unreal.

A small idea, a quiet story, carried by many hands, now travelling and meeting people in rooms we never imagined.

Thank you to everyone who came to watch, to listen, to feel it with us. I’m deeply grateful. Thank you @mbali_thefilmmaker for having me part of this project. Stories told with honesty and heart will always find their way. 🎬
