NEW ROBOT WORK for @thisiscinegrade and their client @blackriflecoffee . When Cody reached out to us about the job, we had no idea it would end with us jumping a 130’ gap in a Dodge Ram pick up truck with action sports legend @travispastrana

For this job, we had a big task. They needed a robot arm to pull off a precise camera move, 8 feet off the ground, in the middle of a quarry, while our talent was strapped into a truck being dangled from a crane. We needed something fast and ready to roll with the punches, so we created a platform for our Ford Raptor and attached our @camerabotics CRA 1300 onto it. Building our computing station in the cab of the vehicle, and using @dji 2000kwh Power Bank, we were completely mobile. Able to move camera into position extremely quickly, without ever having to shut down. Achieving a handful of camera angles, and robotic movements all within 1 hour.

Thanks to the entire crew for an amazing shoot.

The year is 2045. All towns are now Dollar Generals. My mini doc about Dollar Generals just dropped. It’s called Dollar Desert a quick dive into how these stores are popping up everywhere and what that means for small towns like mine.

I’ve been having a blast making short stuff like this. What should I dig into next? What’s happening in your town that nobody’s talking about?

A little homage to a valley I love. When the news about the proposed data center came out last week, I honestly just sat there for a couple minutes.

I don’t really know how I feel about where all of this is going, and it’s moving too quickly to look away.

I just know it’s hard to imagine this quiet stretch of farms and creek becoming something so massive. #Datacenter #sony #cinematography taken in Butler, Pennsylvania by @dennypry

Joël Nankman (@jjcnankman) rode through the second night of the Grand Depart, foregoing sleep to try at overtake the Endless Mountains 430 leaders, @granola_mctreehugger and @krummholz.cc. When the media team ran into Joël in LeRaysville, the reality of his gamble set in as he sat outside of the @leraysville_market, cycling through a myriad of emotions.

Despite not being able to snatch 1st place, Joël’s overnight push did secure him 3rd place, which he likely would not have gotten otherwise.

When Diego Prieto (@bicisdediego) came to the Endless Mountains Grand Depart, he wasn’t sure what kind of people he would ride with, aside from his riding partner Alex Tobo (@alextobo24). A native Spanish speaker, Diego has found that in the states he tends to ride alone, worried about the language barrier keeping him from connecting with English-speaking cyclists. But here at the Endless Mountains, he challenged himself to not fear that barrier, and ended up meeting fellow cyclists who don’t live far from him back near Philly.

Diego and Alex ultimately scratched after a bad mechanical, but their experience here was so impactful that they’re already planning a return in 2027!

Endless Mountains Day 4!

The middle-distance course shut its doors today after the last rider closed the loop. The lantern rouge on the 250 was affectionately referred to as “the beard with the BOB”. Derrick Pero missed registration and didn’t have a tracker, but rode the route with his friends anyway, BOB trailer in tow. He didn’t want to spend money on all the specific bikepacking gear, so he took a “rung whatcha brung” approach, adding that it seemed to add stability to his rig.

Out on the 430, Brian Lovett (@lovett_rider) was our only finisher today, clocking in at an impressive 78h 21m when you consider all the detours and waiting around he did to source a replacement tire early in the race. Nicole Maniez (@litniknic) continues to crush her 50th birthday trip, currently sitting as the fastest woman on the 430 this year.

The midpack, which our Media Team affectionately calls “The Colombians, Canadians, and Three’s Company (the Americans)”, cruised through the land of viaducts and rail-trails. Each group was angling toward a different destination despite all starting from the same hotel this morning. “Three’s Company”, aka Cyndi Janetzko (@kayakcyndi), Hannah Aune (@_hannah_aune), and Garrett Linebaugh, undoubtedly ended up with the best accommodations at @campbluestonevenue with private cabins and a hot tub.

The back of the pack is chugging along, and we will bring more stories from them tomorrow.

Dots started pinging before dawn as a thick fog sat over the region. In Tunkhannock, Race Director David Landis (@dplandis) and the Media Team gathered for their first breakfast, joined by a few weary cyclists. With bellies full of carbs and coffee, plans were made for the riders to resupply in Nicholson.

Time moves a little slower in the midpack. They’re savoring the views, getting adequate sleep, and even taking time to do laundry. But they still have goals that require big days on the bike, and they intend to stick to ‘em.

Endless Mountains Day 3! More than half of our riders are proud new owners of their very own Endless Mountains Finisher’s Medallion.

Out in the eastern half of the 430, a slow battle waged for first place this morning. Benjamen Shrewsberry (@granola_mctreehugger) came out victorious, closely followed by Nicholas Holtz (@krummholz.cc), Joël Nankman (@svbikes), and Scott Coblentz (@scomiccob). Things on the long way round are just getting started, with most of the touring riders having nearly 200 miles remaining.

The Endless Mountains 250 is just about buttoned up. Five more cyclists finished their journey today, thankful that the weather finally gave them a break. Elodie Burlet (@elovelo73) completed her ITT, setting a new Women’s FKT at 25h 56m. A small handful, making sure to soak up every ounce of magic in the region, have one more day of rolling through these endless mountains. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again–racing certainly has a place here, but the riders who take their time on these routes consistently have better experiences.

Stay tuned tomorrow as the media coverage shifts its focus to the eastern side of the 430.

Riding through the night and flirting with sleep deprivation is a dangerous strategy, but if you play your cards right, the jackpot is worth it.

Joël Nankman (@svbikes) took that gamble last night. While everyone else on the 430 slept, Joël was mashing the pedals, aiming to sneakily climb into first place. After an egg and cheese sandwich at Dennis’s trail magic, he tackled Helen’s Hill in a thunderstorm, nearly getting struck by lightning at the top of the climb. He ducked into Chet’s Place for a brief recovery, aided by a double bourbon.

The rail-grade miles of the D&H flew by as Joël moved into third, passing Scott Coblentz (@scomiccob) in the dead of night. As he neared Montrose, he thought he was hallucinating when he saw three tire tracks riding together, unaware that a local dotwatcher had joined Benjamen Shrewsberry (@granola_mctreehugger) and Nicholas Holtz (@krummholz.cc) for a stretch.

By the late morning, it was clear that this roll of the dice did not go his way. At the LeRaysville Market, Joël appeared delirious, cycling through a variety of emotions as he sat in front of the counter waiting to pay for his sandwich. He’s riding on and trying to hold on to a podium spot, but his hopes of gold are slipping away.

The 430 Men’s Race will see its winner crowned today, but it’s not exactly clear who they will be.

Benjamen Shrewsberry (@granola_mctreehugger) rolled into LeRaysville at 8am, stopping at the Dandy for caffeine and quick calories. He and Nicholas Holtz (@krummholz.cc) spent the night in Montrose, where they found all of the rooms booked up on a Sunday night by gas company contractors. Luckily, a local cyclist, Lorenzo Christian (@lorenzo_chr50), met up with them and offered them warm beds and hot showers, which they could not pass up.

Nicholas arrived at the Dandy while Benjamen was still faffing. Nicholas’s Wahoo was having trouble charging and, after it nearly overheated at Lorenzo’s, he changed plans and used it as a mount for his iphone. With an extra bit of electrical tape, he secured his phone between his aerobars and is now navigating with @ridewithgps.

Both riders are exhausted mentally and physically, with various electronic and battery issues plaguing them as well. Among other ailments, Benjamin has a bothersome thumb which swelled up after recently jamming it. Neither rider moved with urgency and seemed to be largely unaware that Joël Nankman (@svbikes) wasn’t trailing too far behind.
