Paintbrush (Castilleja) deserved a whole video because... 1. Vanessa loves them 2. they are parasitic! and 3. did we say Vanessa loves them? This video was filmed during the @CrestedButteWildflowerFestival where Vanessa leads nature hikes and our School of Botanical Art & Illustration offer a variety of art workshops. Happy wildflower season! Please be cool and don’t trample or pick the plants you see while hiking! by @denverbotanic

We did it! 🪻✨ We harvested more than 100 lbs of lavender from Denver Botanic Gardens @ChatfieldFarms for @StemCiders! All it took was one cool morning, 20 volunteers and a handful of willing staff. Now that the lavender is in their hands, Stem will dry, thresh and steep the buds with their cider to produce roughly 900 gallons of their sweet, sweet lavender cider! Want a sip? You can enjoy a glass or grab some to take home at Stem's Acreage or Ghost Box Pizza locations in Lafayette, CO. Stop on by Chatfield Farms soon; the blooms are starting to fade, but there is still plenty to see and smell! by @denverbotanic

One of the lotus’ most fascinating traits is the “lotus effect.” Tiny microscopic structures and a waxy coating on their leaves make them highly water-repellent, allowing raindrops to roll off and carry away dirt. Nature’s own self-cleaning design. 💧🌸Stop by the Gardens before the end of August to catch a lotus flower at its peak. One bloom can last up to five days.📍 Monet Pool and Shofu-en Japanese Garden🌺 Lotus (Nelumbo cultivars)⚠️ Please check early closures before planning your visit. We have several ticketed events taking place in the evenings. by @denverbotanic
