One out of the 72 shots that came from Ellie’s half frame camera. I borrowed the camera to take this shot on a hike a while ago.

I’ve honestly been really hesitant about posting on this account. Not sure why, but I think it has a lot to do with not knowing where to start.

With this being the first photo I’ve chosen to share, that makes it really important to me. In the same way that every photo I choose to post after this will be special in it’s own way. It is a part of me that I will have chosen to share with you.

This photo is just 1 out of 72. A glimpse into a beautiful hike, and one out of the many many many beautiful things that I have been lucky to be a witness of. taken in Unknown by @denzdacayanan

Impressions

Often times what we see right in front of us is not an accurate (or honest) representation of what we feel or how we perceive things. Amidst beauty and lively color there may be within us a kind of turmoil that skews our view.

This concept and idea came almost abruptly as I was going on a walk and sat in a familiar spot watching light from the western sun leak through the branches of the Guanacaste trees onto the ground around me. I didn’t have my camera, so I enjoyed the moment for myself and then hurried home to grab it so I could come back and capture all the daylight the next hour or so had to offer.

This video is open to interpretation and true to whatever impressions you have while watching.

The black and white shot in the beginning indicates that all that is in black and white in the video is a representation of me, what I see, and how I feel. All the videos featured in color are a representation of the world as it is.

Although was shot and edited in a matter of hours, I have always been wanting to film a video like this. Showcasing both video and photography. The concept itself is deeply personal and is an invitation for self reflection.

This was shot on a #fujifilmxh2s and color graded with #davinciresolve using @emulatedfilm filmvision II

All the goodness and grace anyone could ask for.

Day that I have loved

A day on Makana’s boat at Waimea Bay.

A trip to New York with Ellie and her family. The NY public library, broadway, good food, better company, subways, the MET, Monet, Van Gogh, Thanksgiving, the beauty of it all in the juxtaposition of this and that.

🌺🌺

Ellie and I in Tuscany! The vineyards, the glass vases in backrooms of fabric shops, gelato, pasta, people. Tutto bene!

Ellie and fruits

Moments before disaster, but a good sesh nonetheless.
