Head Start was a federally funded early childhood education program created in 1965 to support low-income families across the United States. Based on the architecture these buildings were likely built in the 1930s and were transformed into a head start for the local community. taken in Acomita, New Mexico by @depthsofhouston

A Houston home built in 1979 decaying away. Cobwebs and thick dust surround the home, no air conditioning making it a breeding ground for bacteria. It is owned by a local church, but there is no plans for renovation.

Exploring the abandoned Macroplaza Mall, formerly Pasadena Town Square Mall and Plaza Paseo Mall. The mall opened for business in March 1982 and officially closed in early 2020. The mall originally featured Joske’s, Foley’s, and Palais Royal as its anchor stores. At the time it was built, its location was unusual as it was one of only a few malls in the Houston area not near a highway. It is extremely well preserved and maintained.

A small home built in 1940, now left abandoned. This home had 4 cars on the property, a C3 Corvette, a Lexus LS400, a Jaguar and a Honda. All the cars tags were expired over a decade ago, most notable the C3’s 1982 tags. I don’t know any history of the home, but I was able to take pictures of the homeowner’s wedding photographs and some of her mail. I respect the deceased owners of this house and will not be sharing this address, their family still deserves the chance to collect their belongings.

A 9.2 million dollar house built in 1929, now left abandoned. This property hasn’t been claimed by anyone within the last decade according to Zillow and for a house with no major damages that’s quite odd. It still has running water and electricity.
