Wow, 2024 really helped me reach a new level of thankfulness. This whole year I have just been in awe because God really comes through for me. This is @ericmarcial and I first time preparing a thanksgiving meal together and yeahhhh we’re confident that we will be hosting a Friendsgiving next year. All the food came out perfect. I’m still a work in progress but I really can say that my relationship with Jesus has changed more than just my views on sex, drinking, cursing, praying, etc. I feel myself being transformed internally. This walk is about more than just behaving a certain way. It’s about how you handle everything that is of the world. How you see each moment and how you live and proclaim for the kingdom of God. I’ve had moments where I’m hesitant to speak on God’s glory and how he has changed things for me because I never want to feel like I’m over preaching or nobody is listening. But I really can’t keep his goodness to myself. Trust me I tried lol this series of post is my #touchgrass moment. I’m using God’s creation to tap into my creativity. Spending time outside in trees, in grass, near the ocean. Your life is so much more than a social media post.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to be a creator.

Sometimes I wonder why I do it. Why give so much of myself to people I may never truly connect with? Why willingly subject myself to opinions, perceptions, praise, and criticism?

Then I think about God….the ultimate Creator.

God doesn’t create because He needs the creation to validate the Creator. He creates from an overflow of divine love, completeness, and glory.

And maybe that’s what I’m learning too.

For a long time, I think I was planting seeds in soil that needed something back. I needed the views to water me. The likes to reassure me. The attention to feel like sunlight. And when those things didn’t come, I questioned whether what I was growing was worth anything at all.

But a tree doesn’t become a tree because someone admires it.

It grows because it is rooted.

Flowers don’t bloom for applause. They bloom because the soil, the rain, the sun, and the season have prepared them to.

I’m becoming more rooted in love. More complete within myself. More aware of God’s glory within and around me. I don’t want my creativity to come from hunger anymore. I want it to come from overflow.

So maybe I’ll still plant seeds that nobody notices.
Maybe some flowers will bloom where nobody is looking.
Maybe some branches will grow in directions people don’t understand.

That’s okay.

Not everything I create needs to prove something, perform something, or produce something.

Some things are simply meant to grow.

And this time around, I’m creating from rich soil. 🌱 taken in Los Angeles, California by @dequiantebrown

Update on my #kettlebell journey: I haven’t been to the gym in a few weeks. I haven’t been doing strictly kettlebell workouts, and here’s what I learned:

1. You really have to study and practice these movements. Taking your time with the movements and finding a weight that’s manageable will prevent you from injuring yourself.

2. Kettlebells help me move better. My balance, coordination, and overall athleticism have noticeably improved.

3. Variety matters. Mixing in running/hiking, bodyweight training, and traditional lifting has kept fitness fun instead of feeling like a chore.

4. The best workout is the one you’ll actually stick with. I’m. Noticing a change in my body. Consistency beats the “perfect” program every time.

🌊 Just like the ocean water, I am always changing. I’m in love with transformation and becoming more of who God has called me to be. I love depth. I see the things that are beneath the surface. My mind is renewed with the calmness , reflection, and healing that water provides.

Yes the life I’m building will allow me to spend many hours and days on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, chilling, connecting, and enjoying peaceful views. But for now, Venice beach will be my favorite paradise. 🌴

Day 4 of building the life I’ve been dreaming of :
I am only using this kettle bell for my workouts for the next 30 days. I love the feeling of a full body workout! And the kettle kettle bell engages your whole body. Especially the core! Where I need some love. Trying to get back to my 6 pack has been tough but after only 3 days of kettle bell exercises they are more defined, stay tuned for the next update.
