Sitting five stories up on this roof, I had one of those moments where everything just got quiet.

You look around and realize how much had to happen just to get to this point. The stress, the setbacks, the unknowns, the days where nothing went right, and the moments where we genuinely questioned whether this project was even going to come together.

CP and I took it on headfirst without having every answer. We just kept figuring it out as we went.

And now we’re here — not at the beginning anymore, and honestly a lot closer to the finish than we are to where we started.

That’s what made this moment hit different.

It’s easy to get so caught up in what still needs to be done that you forget to stop and look at what’s already been accomplished. This project has tested us in more ways than I can explain, but it’s also shown me what can happen when you stay locked in, keep your faith, and refuse to walk away from something you believe in.

Five stories up, looking at something that at one point felt almost impossible.

Now it’s real.

And we’re almost there.

Send this to somebody who needs to understand what comes with loving, dating, or being friends with an entrepreneur!

There is nothing wrong with working a 9–5. Some people are completely happy with that life and I respect it. But if you’re close to someone who is building businesses, chasing bigger goals, taking risks and carrying the weight of everything on their shoulders, you have to understand what comes with that too.

Yes, I’m on my phone all the time. Yes, my mind is constantly running. Yes, sometimes you’re talking to me and I’m physically there, but mentally I’m thinking about the next deal, a problem that needs to be solved, somebody I need to call back, or what move I need to make next.

It’s not because I don’t care about the people around me. It’s because when you build your own future, there is no clocking out. Nobody is coming to handle it for you when something goes wrong.

That’s the part people don’t always see.

So if you’re going to be around an entrepreneur, date one, be friends with one, or build with one, understand that the ambition comes with a lifestyle. Sometimes we have to work on being more present, absolutely. But you also have to understand that the same mind you love for being driven, ambitious and successful is probably never going to completely shut off.

This life isn’t for everybody.

I wouldn’t know how to live any other way.

A man was running late for work when he saw an older gentleman stranded with a flat tire.

He almost kept driving, but something told him to stop.

He changed the tire, refused the man’s money and simply said, “Help somebody else when you get the chance.”

Weeks later, the man’s business lost a major deal and he was worried about making payroll.

Then his phone rang.

The older gentleman owned several businesses and needed someone he could trust for a large project.

He remembered the stranger who stopped when everyone else drove by.

That project ended up being worth more than the deal he had lost.

Lesson: Do the right thing when there’s nothing in it for you. Your character is being noticed in moments you think nobody is watching.

Be solid when there’s no reward attached. That’s when it means the most.

I spent a lot of years thinking about what I should’ve done different, choices I shouldn’t have made, people I shouldn’t have trusted, opportunities I missed. But the truth is, every mistake built part of the man I am today.

The losses taught me how to move smarter. The wrong decisions taught me discipline. The people who switched up taught me loyalty. The hard times gave me perspective. Even the shit I’m not proud of gave me lessons I probably wouldn’t have learned any other way.

So if I could go back and erase every mistake, I’d also be erasing the lessons, the hunger, the strength, the wisdom and the version of me those experiences created.

You don’t need to go backwards and fix your past anymore. You need to respect what it taught you and make sure you don’t waste the lesson.
