Don’t get me wrong I like being a nurse and think it’s one of the most versatile degrees you can get.

But..

The hospital and bedside nursing comes with its own set of challenges! It’s not even the patients (most of the time) it’s all the politics involved in taking care of your patients.

Ownership is how you win the game.

Ownership of your thoughts
Ownership of your actions
Ownership of your outcomes

What I want for my family is simple…

Owning land
Owning a business that produces cashflow to cover our living expenses.
Anything else is gravy on top.

This is what I think about when I hear life by design.
Now I can focus my on what really matters.

Doing what I want with who I want.

I don’t have the time or desire to drive to the gym and be there for an hour or more and drive back home.
I want to work out hard for 30 mins get my 10k steps in and be done.
I’m busy trying to enjoy my time with the people I love and care about the most.

That’s lifestyle by design.

Today I felt like I needed to make something.
I had to use my hands and build and bring something to life.

So I decided on a 🪑
It’s actually called a Kentucky stick chair.
Let’s see how it turns out.

As I get the opportunity to watch my kids, grow it really puts life in perspective and what matters most.

Truly, it comes down to my time.
The one thing we can’t buy more of and no one knows how long they get.

I’m always thinking about…

How I spend it
Where I spend it
Who I’m spending it with.

I just wanna make sure that I’m healthy and can spend quality time with my family while I have the opportunity

Right now we are in the Sweet spot.

My kids, my wife and I, and our parents are healthy! That may not always be the case so we must take advantage of it NOW!

Normally, I would come up with excuses not to make a post today. First day back to work after being off for a month and boy was it a long day.

New hospital
New systems
New coworkers
no sense of rhythm

Just because you had a long day, doesn’t mean you get to break the promises that you made to yourself.

I said I would post everyday and that’s what I’m doing. When I think about it that’s what the person I’m trying to become would do.

It’s not about how I feel.

It’s about sticking to the program and keeping your word to yourself.

When you start your climb of cringe mountain you start to realize no one is really paying attention.

Everyone has their own life and problems, they are the main character in their own stories.

The “embarrassment” exists only in your mind.

So let’s get out here and start building a life of your own design

Not the life others want you to live.
