Celebrating AANHPI Heritage Month by honoring stories that help people feel seen, understood, and inspired, and showing that these experiences appear throughout all aspects of life and art. 💚 — Maggie van Wieringen & Derek Schiesel, National Tour of #WICKED by @derekschiesel

Don’t shame me for posting months after vacation. Or do. I probably won’t read it anyways. taken in Tuscany by @derekschiesel

Hello 32! I’m incredibly grateful for all of the people, memories, and lessons that 31 brought me. Now here’s to another year of learning, loving, and growing! taken in Riomaggiore, Cinque Terre, Italy by @derekschiesel

I made my Chistery debut! Over the past couple months I’ve transitioned into a Swing position on the Wicked tour. It has been an incredibly challenging yet rewarding process, and getting to learn this show in a new light has me falling in love with performing all over again. A huge hank you to my dance captains @benjaminsusak @kellylafarga and @nicky_venditti for teaching me the tracks, and answering my thousands of questions. And to the whole touring company, thank you so much for all of your support and shoving me with love when I’m in the wrong spot on stage. taken in Emerald City, OZ by @derekschiesel

After 16 years, today is @nicky_venditti ’s final performance with Wicked. This show brought you into my life, has taken us around the country together, and created memories that will last a lifetime, and for that I couldn’t be more grateful. Nicky, you have left the most beautiful legacy here, with both the performances you have given, and the heart you have instilled into every company as Dance Captain. You are one of the reasons this show is so magical. Congratulations (/lotions) on an incredible tenure here, my Love. We have all been so lucky to have shared the stage with you. Yesterday we opened @wicked_musical at the @hollywoodpantagestheatre! I lived in LA for eight years and drove past the Pantages millions of times, but this was the first time actually stepping foot into this gorgeous theater. Coming back to this city I love with the show I love means more to me than I ever knew. Here’s to a beautiful two months!
