Henry was a dear friend and workmate of mine for many years. When I first met him about twenty years ago, I thought he was a breath of fresh air and that never changed. Every time I saw Henry, he radiated positivity and hope. Nothing was ever insurmountable in Henry’s world; he had a remarkable ability to lead people to success, no matter the circumstances.
In our industry, a director’s talent and popularity are often judged by how much repeat business they get. Henry was one of those rare directors who, once someone worked with him, they kept coming back again and again. He delivered creatively, but just as importantly, he was a joy to work with, even under pressure. Henry had a gift for de-escalating tense situations and turning them into something fun.
He could make anything happen. No dolly? No problem, Henry would grab his rollerblades. No Steadicam? He’d fly a drone through an interior factory. Whatever the obstacle, Henry always found a way, and everyone knew he would.
Beyond his resourcefulness, Henry was one of the kindest, most generous, most gentlemanly, and most youthful people I’ve ever known. Throughout his career, he mentored countless young people, helping them discover their potential and setting them on the path to success. He loved being around young people and believed in their promise, perhaps because he saw a bit of himself in them. Henry learned by working hands on, and he wanted others to have that same opportunity. That was Henry, always lifting others up.
Such a unique man. I feel lucky to have had him in my life for so many years. Rest in peace, my friend. You’ve left behind a legacy of peace, love, and good vibes. by @dereksewell

Respect - My father, Ian, pictured here in 2015 in Holland. We returned there as a family to celebrate the liberation of that country by the Canadians in WWll. At 98 years old, he’s still with us today. He’ll be proudly celebrating with many other vets and my mother, at the Sunnybrook Veterans Hospital. An incredible facility who staff care for their patients with respect and compassion.
Thanks for everything you’ve done for this country and for us Dad.

Happy Birthday Molly!
A year ago today sweet Molly Grace McQuade joined us. She has been a bright light for all of us during this difficult year. She has give our family a reason to smile everyday. She’s our Zoom baby. We’ve only been with her three times since birth but Tassi Facetimes every day so we can stay connected. Grandparenting by phone. Not the best, but better than no contact at all. Happy Birthday little one. Can’t wait to see you soon. by @dereksewell

Today, my parents celebrate 70 years of marriage. Still living on their own. Enjoying life. Mums getting sick of cooking but Dad doesn’t care what he eats so it works out just fine. Pretty impressive couple these two. Amazing role models for our family and lots of fun too. Happy Anniversary Mum and Dad. Here’s to many more! by @dereksewell

Tassi and Nick have gifted us with sweet little Molly Grace. 8.7lbs of perfection. It takes a village to raise a child. Hers is standing by, with open arms, ready to welcome her and support her down the path we call life. We’re so happy to see this new little family take shape. It’s an exciting time for all involved. I think Molly will always be remembered as a ray of sunshine and positivity in an otherwise difficult time. Welcome little Molly. Can’t wait to hug you!! ❤️❤️❤️ by @dereksewell
