Very thankful and blessed to have my dad be my teacher and the one to promote/guide me on not only my BJJ Journey, but also my journey through life.

Many thanks to Troy who also puts a lot of his time to help me evolve and keeps me sharp whenever I’m about to compete and also Gilberto! You guys and all the other black belts have poured into me becoming who I am today.

And also big thanks to my teamates who push me everyday to be my best. Very excited to see what i can accomplish at this new belt. OSS 👊🏼❤️

It’s better to get back up and keep going than to give up. Giving up will never be an option.

This applies to everything in life. Not just Jiu jitsu. BUT Jiu Jitsu is a great vehicle for developing the skills and mindset for achieving greatness. #mentality #mindset #achievinggoals #achievingaspirations #motivation by @derickdallabjj

First thing I want to say is im so thankful for my team, my gym, and my Dad. You guys push me more than you know. As well as this affiliation my dad has fostered, we got some real killers in here and I can’t wait to see the big brothers teams future.

Second, what a great outcome for the work I put in. Still alot more I want to accomplish this year. But this medal symbolizes that although I can have talent, it will be nothing without the hard work put in outside of the regular hours.

I told the teens I teach about this whole experience and that it’s not easy. As you climb the belts ranking it only gets harder. People study, do other things like workout, lift, run, calisthenics, eat clean, drill etc. and that to be great you have to outwork them.

Lastly I want to thank God. Thank you for humbling me in so many ways, teaching me what it truly means to sacrifice, and be who I was created to be. taken in Leo Dalla Martial Arts - BJJ - MMA & Muay Thai by @derickdallabjj

Stars only shine in darkness my friend.

Put that work in, study the game, adjust and improve.
