Motherhood! What an all consuming experience. Magical, fulfilling, humbling and oh so difficult at times. I love my sweet girls and am so thankful to be their mama. I woke up with an ache for my own mother and a sadness that she never got a chance to hold my babies or guide me as I stepped into motherhood. But I recently read about ovarian intergenerational continuity. By the time a baby girl is just 29 weeks in the womb, she has already created every egg she will ever carry in her lifetime. That means the eggs that eventually became my daughters were formed while I was still growing inside my mother. So my mother’s womb held three generations at once, me and quietly tucked inside of me-every cell that would one day become my daughters. So in a poetic way, she is connected to them and has been since the beginning. Happy Mother’s Day 💛 by @derlenqkwinflip
Well, been growing this lil sprout for 33 weeks now…🌱🌾 Babygirl is due in October and I can’t wait to hold her in my arms. Nervous she will be leaving the safety of my womb, but eager for her to experience the feeling of sunlight on her skin for the first time, the smell of red rocks after rain, the sounds of the birds and bugs waking up… What a strange visceral journey motherhood has been so far and it’s barely just begun. by @derlenqkwinflip

Just a lil shout out to my number one boo Bowie (also known as Googy, Jinju, Bobo, Binjasu etc.). This sweet lab/cattle dog boy came into our lives almost a year ago now and wowee he has brought us so much joy! When we rescued him, we were told that an officer had found him just roaming the streets and named him Snooks but nothing else was known about his backstory. We have our theories but one thing is for sure, whatever happened in his past life has not jaded him. I have worked at dog shelters and seen too many dogs while traveling that have a lot of love to give but just need a second chance... I could go on and on but I just wanted y’all to know I love Bowie. A lot. #adoptdontshop #humanesocietyofsouthplattevalley #rescuedogsofinstagram by @derlenqkwinflip

Lovin’ you always mama. 🌿🐚🌬🕊 by @derlenqkwinflip
