My journey into aesthetic medicine didn’t start in a boardroom or a business plan, it started with my own skin. 🧴✨

As a double board-certified Nurse Practitioner 👩🏾‍⚕️⚕️, I spent years searching for a provider who truly understood African American skin while struggling with acne of my own. Time and again, I found the same gap: most skincare research, products, and protocols simply weren’t built with melanin-rich skin in mind.
That barrier meant delayed diagnoses, poor treatment matches, and a lot of trial and error for people who looked like me. ⏳

So I did what any determined clinician would do I started researching it myself. 📚🔍 I dug into the science of treating acne and hyperpigmentation in African American skin, and began applying what I learned to my own routine. 🧪✨

When I saw real improvement, something clicked 💡: if I had been struggling to find answers, there were surely countless other African American women facing the exact same frustration. 👩🏾
