Brian,
You lit the world with colour, creativity & grace.
You leave the world a brighter place with your legacy.
You defined modern Scottish graffiti/street art & style writing.
You taught so many with paint in hand – aged fools like me, to younger scholars.
You kept that curious 13 year old glint in your eye from when we first met, to when we last met.
You laughed, danced, taught, played, brought styles (many) – and always with your humble smile.
You will always be surrounded by love.
Rest easy my friend.

Forever Elph
“We listen to the colour of your dreams”
A collaboration in memory of our brother Elph. A closer look at some of the details from our first collaboration together, a great session filled will deep and nonsense chat. The freedom of creating in the moment with like minds is a special thing, moments of silence and hilarity. There’s a peace in being present with the wall, paint and space.
It’s a process few of us understand but brings us together in this amazing community of artists. Trust the Process, talk to your friends.

I was recently commissioned By Historic Environment Scotland to create a modern sculptural piece inspired by the neolithic Towie Ball found in Aberdeenshire. The piece is part of a larger exhibition of graffiti, early stone carving and mark making in Scotland called Marking Time. Curated by the talented team of Sace Lochart and Dr Alex Hale.

The ball is carved from beach and painted with copper inserts that will oxidise and age with time. I have really enjoyed working on this project and getting a history lesson in the process.

Towie balls along with cup and ring carvings are one of earliest pieces of mark making in Scotland. Very little is known about their purpose. More info can be found here: tinyurl.com/towieball

The exhibition is currently showing at Fort George in Fortrose, then on to Stanley Mills in Perth. For more info: tinyurl.com/markingtime by @dermographix

Hidden Door.
I have been commissioned to design the front end visuals for this years @hiddendoorarts festival. It is an amazing arts festival in an old printing and paper factory in edinburgh. It is run by a great team of individuals and showcases amazing contemporary artists. Having painted in the derelict building last year as well as press passing print jobs there while it was functioning as a print works, it was important bring the architecture and heritage at the front of the creative. I have had fun with this one. Well worth checking out the line up of artist at the event. by @dermographix
