A new word inspiring some new thoughts tor me today.

Eudaimonia: Aristotle’s term for human flourishing — living well and developing one’s capacities and character through a life of virtuous activity.

Capacity and character are not exceptionally comfortable to build. And saying yes to the required things, means saying no to good things as well as bad things.

The virtuous choice becomes easily clouded in a world full of beauty and the good.

I like this as a counter-measure:

“Is this the excellent choice for this life, in these circumstances, for the person I am becoming?” by @derrickbauman
