DES BAINS presents NO EXCUSE, a solo exhibition by the Italo-Lebanese duo Désirée Nakouzi De Monte and Andrea Parenti of @collezionenancydelroi

The exhibition brings together a selection of new works and films.

NO EXCUSE is a social satire on our incapacity to confront the obvious meaning behind unequivocal events. As images of violence are endlessly repeated, empathy gives way to familiarity: horror becomes sex, catastrophe becomes content, and evil, through repetition, becomes banal, consumed on a carousel of spectacle like advertising slogans, where everything is made visible and nothing is truly seen. The aesthetics of collapse take centre stage, and the work questions the radical trauma of aesthetics, performativity and desire, a desire never fully satisfied. The new works take up questions of violence, fame, surveillance, beauty and cult images.

Nakouzi & Parenti of Collezione Nancy Delroi are the Italo-Lebanese artist duo Désirée Nakouzi De Monte (b. 1994, Trieste, Italy) and Andrea Parenti (b. 1992, Milan, Italy). Based between Milan and Beirut, their practice was shaped over a decade of collaboration as co-directors of MRZB Art Group, active between Amsterdam, Turin, Milan and Beirut from 2014 to 2024.

Recent presentations include Vulcana. Sublimation, Stromboli (2026); Kunstverein in Hamburg (2026); Galerie Hussenot, Paris (2026); and a solo presentation with DES BAINS at miart, Milan (2026). Previous projects developed under MRZB include exhibitions and presentations at Manifattura Tabacchi, Florence; Conservatoire Pierre Barbizet, Marseille; De Ateliers, Amsterdam; MACAO, Milan; and Associazione Barriera, Turin.

Their work has been supported by Culture Moves Europe and the Amsterdam Fonds voor de Kunst. They were shortlisted for the MAXXI BVLGARI Prize and were recipients of the Torino Social Impact Art Award / Artissima.

Opening 13 October 2026 | 6 - 8 pm

NO EXCUSE is Collezione Nancy Delroi’s first exhibition with the gallery and their first solo exhibition in the United Kingdom.

Working together since 2014, first through MRZB and, since 2024, through Collezione Nancy Delroi, the artists move between sculpture, installation, film, image-making and staged environments.

For NO EXCUSE, furniture, found objects, figures, costumes, painted surfaces and images are dismantled, altered and recombined. Materials move between domestic spaces, film sets and installations.

Cinema, costume, interiors, violence, sexuality and spectacle enter the work as materials rather than references — part of an ongoing practice in which nothing quite stays in the role it was originally given.
