We Cannot Handle the Truth

I went alone to see Jack White at Nashville's The Truth, got a surprise performance by The Raconteurs, and somehow became part of a little family of strangers. For four hours, we looked out for one another and shared an unforgettable night.

Then the music stopped, and we all walked away without exchanging a single phone number.

Have we become so accustomed to being alone that we've forgotten how to stay connected?

A little rock and roll, feral humor, and an uncomfortable observation about human connection. 💜

Sometimes it hits you out of nowhere that your life will never be the same again. Not necessarily worse. Not necessarily better. Just… never the same.

There are people, places, laughter, and entire chapters of my life that I still miss. And I think I always will.

But I’m learning that moving forward doesn’t require pretending the past didn’t matter. It mattered. It still does.

So here’s to the lives we’ve lived, the people we’ve loved, and whatever the hell comes next. 😂❤️
