I recently bought this suit, but I didn’t buy as a fashion statement, I bought it because it’s close to the same color as the breast cancer awareness ribbon, and that’s something that is near and dear to my heart. The ultimate decision to finally buy the suit and wear it every time I’m at my office in Marlinton, WV is not only to spread awareness on breast cancer, but also because there I’ve had close family members who have battled and fought with breast cancer, while they have won the battle, that fight is something that they will have always have to fight to stay in remission.

October is breast cancer awareness month, and I plan on wearing this suit every chance that I get to raise awareness on the matter, if you know someone who is dealing with breast cancer or any kind of cancer be there for them, let them know that they are not alone, but also understand that sometimes they may not be in the mood to talk because of their treatments, but make sure you love them unconditionally.

Five Signs Your Business Needs a Stronger Foundation 🧭

A lot of business owners think the answer is to keep adding more, more content, more services, more offers, and more strategies, but a business can only carry what its foundation is built to support. If you are struggling to explain what your business actually does, or you find yourself describing it differently depending on who you are talking to, that is usually a sign that your direction needs to be clearer.

You may also notice that your offers keep changing, clients are coming to you who do not align with what you want to build, and every decision about pricing, services, or client agreements feels like something you have to figure out all over again. Those are not small issues; they are signs that your business needs a stronger structure underneath it.

Growth should feel intentional, even when it challenges you. When more visibility, more inquiries, and more opportunities only create more confusion, it is time to step back and strengthen the foundation before trying to build anything else on top of it.

Eight years later, I still think about the things people never saw. The depression, the battles I kept to myself, the days when I could be around people and still feel completely alone, and the moments when I was struggling with things I didn’t know how to put into words.

I’m not sharing this because I have depression figured out or because I have some perfect message about surviving it. I share it because I know what it’s like to be in a place where your mind convinces you that nobody could possibly understand what you’re feeling. I know what it’s like to carry pain that doesn’t show on the outside, and I know how easy it can be to believe that you’re completely alone in it.

If you’re struggling with depression right now, I want you to know that you are not the only person who has felt this way. You don’t have to pretend that you’re okay with me, and you don’t have to have the right words to say that you’re struggling. Sometimes the most important thing you can do is let somebody know that you’re not okay and allow them to sit with you in it.

I can’t promise you that everything gets easy, and I won’t tell you that there is some simple answer to depression. What I can tell you is that the moment you’re in does not contain everything that your life can become. I know that because I couldn’t see beyond September 22, 2018 either.

I’m still here, and if you’re struggling right now, I hope you give yourself the chance to be here tomorrow too.

Reflection Friday; it’s not about the success that I’ve achieved, the accolades that I’ve earned, the titles that I’ve held, and currently hold, it’s about giving back the glory and praise to the One who laid out these plans for me before I was ever born, it’s thanking God for allowing always leaving the 99 to find me after I’ve wondered off the path that he designed for me. It’s thanking Him for never breaking his promise of always loving me unconditionally, and without judgment whenever I fall short of his commands, it’s about knowing that He only knows some of the struggles I face when I put on a smile for the world.
