Get over it, life’s too short!

With so much going on in my life in such a short amount of time, I’ve never really taken a step back to reflect on just how much I’ve accomplished so far. I’m constantly thinking about what’s next and stressing about what is to come.

From graduating in the top 10 of my class in 2023, to earning a 4.0 and graduating from CLC with an Associate of Arts degree in 2024, my journey has been fast-paced. I then transferred to BSU and jumped right into the Elementary Education program in 2025. Now, this Spring 2026, I graduated with a 4.0 in Elementary Education, along with an add-on licensure in Middle School Mathematics.

Even more exciting, before graduating, I was offered and accepted a job at Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Elementary School—the same school I attended as a student. Getting to return as an educator is something truly special.

Alongside these milestones, I set personal goals for myself. One was to graduate college debt-free, and another was to build or buy a house in the summer of 2026. I am proud to say I have accomplished my first goal. I would not have been able to do that without my amazing support system. I’m so grateful for scholarships, the jobs I worked in my spare time, my parents for providing not only a roof over my head but also comfort and support through a stressful journey, and my coworkers for their constant encouragement and reassurance.

I also want to thank Jackson, Vanessa, and Alexa for truly being by my side every step of the way. Whenever I needed help, one of them was always there.

As for my second goal, Jackson and I are currently in the process of making it happen. By the time fall arrives, we hope to be warm and cozy in our own home.

With all of that being said, I wanted to take a moment to recognize everything I’ve accomplished at just 20 years old. I’m very proud of myself, and I know this is only the beginning. I can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store in the years to come! by @desi.phillips
