I had the opportunity to lead a workshop at the CHA Youth Career Expo, talking with young people about different ways to get into tech and some of the myths that can make the industry feel harder to break into than it really is.We talked about how a four-year degree or being a programmer isn’t the only path. Certifications, apprenticeships, communication, leadership, creativity, and other skills can all lead to opportunities in tech.A big part of the workshop was helping them see that there are more roles and more ways into the industry than they may have realized.Really enjoyed being able to share what I know, answer questions, and give them a broader look at what working in tech can actually look like.#CHACareerExpo #TechCareers #CareerDevelopment #TechEducation #ChicagoYouth #FutureOfWork by @desibaker_
