💸 Real numbers. No filter.
A family of 5 living in the Netherlands — here’s what we actually spend every month 👇

🏠 House (mortgage): €2,250
👶 Kids Daycare & BSO: €4,500
⚡ Utilities (gas, electricity, WiFi, mobile): €450
🛡️ Insurances: €400
🚗 Car (including Insurance: €800)
🛒 Groceries: €850
🍽️ Eating out & shopping: €400
🏛️ Municipal taxes: €150

💰 Total: ~€7,300/month

📌 A few things worth knowing before you judge:
✅ Our daycare cost is before kinderopvangtoeslag (childcare allowance) we get ~2000 back.
✅ Mortgage is after the government tax rebate
🚗cost is after some downpayment done already.

⚠️ Vacation(thrice a year approx 5000€) & misc. expenses like seasonal shopping (average 800) quarterly are NOT included — those vary every month

The Netherlands isn’t cheap — but the quality of life, safety, schooling & work-life balance? Worth every euro. 🧡

things that help calm travel with 3 kids. 8 hours on the road:
#Netherlands 🇳🇱 to Germany 🇩🇪 🚗😂

* start as early as possible in the morning
* stretch first break as long as possible(we took after 3.5 hours * carry lots of snacks
* we don’t give iPads so lots of talking
* don’t keep entertaining them, that helps them to sit relaxed
* book for elder kids
* tell them it’s going to take very long even before starting so they know it’s going to take long.

Because travelling with kids is fun, but hungry kids in the car? That’s a whole different story 😂🙈

There will be time when I’ll be travelling without all these but for now this is all about making sure they’re happy and enjoying the vacations ✨

🗓️ Day 1: Netherlands → Dunkirk → Windsor 🚢🏰

🚗 Drove from the Netherlands to Dunkirk port in France.

⛴️ Took the ferry from Dunkirk to the UK and continued our drive to Windsor.

🧱 Checked into our stay at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort.

🍛 Dinner at Bikaner Restaurant.

✨ Spent the evening exploring our LEGO-themed accommodation and getting ready for the next few days of fun!

🗓️ Day 2: A Full Day at LEGOLAND 🎢🧱

🥐 Started the day with breakfast at the LEGOLAND hotel.

🎡 Spent the day exploring LEGOLAND Windsor, enjoying rides, attractions and LEGO-themed experiences.

🍔 Had lunch at one of the restaurants inside LEGOLAND.

🍽️ Dinner at a LEGOLAND restaurant.

💛 A full day of fun, excitement and happy little faces!

🗓️ Day 3: More LEGO Adventures 🎠

🧱 Spent another day exploring LEGOLAND because one day just wasn’t enough for us!

🎢 Enjoyed more rides and attractions at a relaxed pace with the kids.

🍕 Dinner from Pizza Hut after a long, fun-filled day.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Staying close to LEGOLAND made it so much easier to enjoy the park without rushing with three kids!

🗓️ Day 4: Windsor Castle → London 🏰🌉

👑 Visited Windsor Castle, famously associated with the Bollywood movie Namastey London.

🚗 Then drove to London and checked into our hotel with a view of Tower Bridge. Hotel :
🏨 the Tower Bridge.

🌆 Spent the evening around London Bridge, enjoying the beautiful riverside views.

📸 Found an amazing Instagram spot for the perfect picture with Tower Bridge in the background!

✨ An evening walk by the Thames is a lovely way to start exploring London.

🗓️ Day 5: London’s Iconic Sights 🚌📸

We explored several famous London attractions, and the best part? Most of them are close enough to cover in one day!
