Legends Never Die 🐐🙏🏼

Woke up this morning hoping it was all a bad dream… an artist who has had such a profound impact on the Panjabi music industry in such a short space of time has left us way before his time and the crazy thing is, he was only just getting started.

I was on my way to a show yesterday when I heard the news and was struggling to understand it… my head wasn’t in the right place. Sidhu was someone who changed the game. He was an icon. The modern-day Chamkila. Panjab’s Tupac.

There’s no justification for taking someone’s life in that way. I just hope something positive comes out of this situation. And if anything, it’s a lesson for us all to be good to the people around us while they are still here. You never know what tomorrow holds…

Sidhu veere… From ‘Moose Wala Frenzy’, I manifested that one day we’d work together. Then seeing you listening to my mixes, to performing together at events… that was all my good fortune and Waheguru’s blessings. And in the end, even if we didn’t get to finish our project, I’m grateful I was given the opportunity to work with you…
Akaal sahai Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu 🙏🏼😔

My deepest condolences go out to Sidhu’s family & close friends at this very difficult time. Waheguru bhana manan da bal bakshe 💔

They said that UK Bhangra was for the history books, we took that one personally.

When we first locked in the studio, the vision was never just about streaming numbers.

It was about the feeling you only get in a packed room. The live element is something that can’t be replicated but we had to make sure we honoured the Panjabi artists who gave us something to call our own.

Now we’re taking For The Culture on tour alongside @desifrenzy, @shxxnmusic & the rest of the @empyrmusicofficial team. We have been putting the show together, bringing these songs to life with live arrangements, exclusive edits and a few things we’re saving for the room.

3 cities. 3 nights. For everyone who’s been part of this journey;

This one really is ‘FOR THE CULTURE’ ❤️‍🔥

FOR THE CULTURE DHOL CHALLENGE 🌾

Tag your favourite dholi in the comments 🥁👇🏼

It’s been about a year since we did the last open dhol challenge - we had loads of messages to do another one, so we thought we’d bring it back 🎯

Looking forward to hearing what you come up with. When you post the challenge, don’t forget to select the ‘For the Culture’ audio in the background and also nominate 3 people to try it 💯

Nothing like British x Panjabi culture 🌾🇬🇧

We featured several skits on our album ‘For The Culture’, as we wanted to showcase different sides of who we are; the humour, the characters and the community that we grew up around.

But there’s also a little message at the end of this one too…

This skit is a reminder that we should be lifting each other up, not pulling each other down. Whether someone is from Panjab, Birmingham, Toronto or anywhere else, if one of our own is doing well, we should celebrate it. Check out the full ‘Visa Skit’ on the album.

Huge thank you to @HarjapBhangal for helping to bring this skit, the intro to ‘Munde Pind De’, to life.
