I'm having a moment realizing that upgrading my watercolor and portrait skillset also means a direct upgrade to those same skills in a different medium 🤯. Seems obvious I know! but now I want to dive back in to different mediums I haven't tried in years. I also want to learn Batik. I also NEED a Japanese giant mop of an ink brush.

The thought of Fall always has me some type of way. Truly my favorite Season. Love the mix of late Summers warmth and the abundance of life decaying slowly beneath our feet.
I've been thinking about how bittersweet simply experiencing life to its fullest is. I wish we could all experience all the love and abundance we can before our spark on this Earth is over. It feels like we are here for such a small amount of time yet deeply tied to Earths Eternal Dance with Time. We are loved, changed, hurt, messy, and beautiful. We are of nature and nature holds us long after we're gone. by @desiga_arte

This piece will be on display in the Conley Art Building inside the large display case👌 If you are coming out the the Gallery Reception tomorrow (Phebe Art Gallery 5-7pm) you will be able to see it.

I have no idea where I'm going to put this when it's not on display 😓. This piece is a 36"x 48" oil painting. A master copy of Adolph William Bouguereau's "Satyr and Nymphs" Any Bouguereau fans out there?

4 phases in 28 days can feel like whiplash. Though isn't it a divine purpose to move alongside a celestial body? That's what this piece is about.

I wrote in my journal/sketchbook one day that I was feeling whipped around by the fluctuations of my hormones. It feels like I get half a week of feeling great and then quickly nose dive into one issue after another all tied to my cycle. I know I'm not the only woman who feels this way so it felt good to make something many of us can relate to.
This is an 18x24" study and someday I'd like it to be a 5x7' or 3x5' piece. I was really able to enjoy the process of this painting from an easy conception to a loose and gestural paintstroke. Sometimes it's just about sharing a single feeling. by @desiga_arte

A color study using what's apparently a color combo I truly enjoy. Blue and purple are just so nice together.💙💜
Plus an irresistible subject matter.
I think I'm slowly growing my patience with water color.
Artist meet-ups!: Every Tuesday and Thursday 1-4pm I'll be using the Library at Fresno State as my little art studio while my Son is at daycare here. Please join me, I'd love the company! A friend to speak about art with would be swell. by @desiga_arte

I was randomly jotting down this concept and I found myself thinking "I should save this for next semester." But why? In that moment in time that's what I really wanted to draw/paint.
So I scrapped something other idea I wasn't feeling passionate about and did what made me feel good. New ideas will come and ideas always get reimagined at the right time. Just put it all down and paint what makes you feel something in the moment. by @desiga_arte

Why did I wait 6 years to paint this reference photo? I guess I've been waiting for the perfect time to start "seriously" painting pet portraits. I guess it took me 6 years to feel ready. 🤷‍♀️

I had to tell myself that I was free to draw what I wanted before being able to do this. Without the pressure of school or deadlines I am free. Free to explore mediums, content and technique.
I want to create a series of nudes that reflect the intrinsic beauty to be born female and the desire to emulate the natural world in every breath. We are not a separate entity to nature, we ARE nature. by @desiga_arte
