The Aesthetics of Unseen Air

Although air itself is invisible, it is one of the most fundamental elements that shape the atmosphere and experience of a space. The design of AR80H begins by exploring how to manage this unseen element in the most restrained way possible.

Rather than appearing as a wall-mounted appliance, AR80H is designed to become a natural part of the space. Its clean cuboid form eliminates unnecessary details, preserving the order and harmony of the surrounding interior.

Quietly operating within the space yet creating a distinct presence, AR80H expands daily life into a more serene and refined experience.

AF90H transforms air into a quietly managed experience as a standing air conditioner designed to hold a defined place within the room. Rather than standing out excessively as an independent decorative item, it integrates naturally with the architectural order of the living space.

✨BALANCE & HARMONY

To me, design is a journey toward perfect balance between space and objects, presence and absence.
I am drawn to the natural, unadorned essence of things. True beauty doesn’t shout; it emerges when authentic textures and tranquil forms offer a sense of emotional serenity.
Technology, too, should move beyond feeling cold and mechanical. Like a work of art, it should belong naturally in a space, blending gently into everyday life. Like the earthy warmth of clay or objects that bear the traces of time, it should bring a sense of quiet harmony. This is the balance of form and function I pursue.

Samsung Electronics received a total of eight awards at the Red Dot Design Concept 2026, including two Best of the Best honors for Samsung Home Appliances Accessories and Samsung Kids Robot Dremo & Minimo. The award-winning concepts deliver intuitive, personalized experiences and open up new possibilities for future lifestyles.

“As technology continues to advance, it becomes increasingly important to understand people,” said Mauro Porcini, President and Chief Design Officer of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics. “Guided by our Expressive Design approach, we will continue exploring how technology can better understand each individual, adapt naturally to their needs, and inspire more personal and meaningful experiences for the future.”
