DACRC is a practice-led research centre based at UAL which have been working with prisoners and returning citizen for over 20 years to design against crime. A lot of this work involves research methods such as interviewing and co-designing. Our last relevant projects are MakeRight, a project where we co-designed anti theft bags with prisoners from HMP Thameside and subsequently created a course framework to run the project in other prisons, and the Cell Furniture Project, where we worked with prisoners from HMP Stanford hill to co-design furniture for the cells in order to make it safer and more adapted than the current one.
