A Villa in the Sky | Kanwar Residence, Mumbai

How do you bring the grandeur of Himachal’s palatial estates into the vertical rhythm of Mumbai?

For a family of four accustomed to expansive, open living amidst the hills, downsizing in scale was never an option. The brief was clear: curate a 3,500 sq. ft. high-rise residence that captures the soul, generosity, and quiet luxury of a sprawling villa—elevated high above the city skyline.

From the very first step, the transition is palpable:

The Statement Entrance: A sculptural foyer anchored by a custom organic timber feature wall, crowned with the family crest and an avant-garde pedestal console.

Classical Grandeur: Imposing double doors open into a classical foyer defined by geometric black-and-white marble inlay, tailored wainscoting, and fluted pilasters.

Timeless Elegance: Delicate crystal chandeliers reflect across pristine marble corridors, balanced by jewel-toned velvet seating and bespoke transitional cabinetry.
(Bonus: The fluffiest resident greeting us at the door! 🐾)

A glimpse into the guest rooms and suites designed by our studio for the upcoming Radisson Jamshedpur (120 keys).

For this property, the narrative revolves around understated luxury—pairing clean architectural lines with tactile warmth. Expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing frames panoramic green views, while fluted glass partitions, warm timber tones, and natural marble accents create a seamless dialogue between the bedroom and ensuite baths. Vibrant circular area rugs and curated local art accents bring subtle, rhythmic bursts of energy into an otherwise serene, neutral canvas.

From restful standard keys to generous multi-zone suites, every square foot is curated for effortless comfort.

Radisson Jamshedpur reinterprets global hospitality standards through a deeply local lens. Positioned above a retail mall in the heart of Bistupur, the hotel unfolds as a layered narrative one that draws from Jamshedpur’s industrial legacy and its natural landscape.

Anchored in the story of the Subernarekha river and the city’s kali mitti (black soil), the interiors reflect the artistic vision of owner Prakash Jha. Rich black metal and woodwork reference the city’s steel-making heritage, grounding contemporary design in place and memory.

The arrival experience is carefully choreographed purposeful transit lobby on the lower floors to a vibrant third-from a floor hub where reception, dining, the bar, and café converge.

Though open in plan, shifts in texture, lighting, and material create distinct emotional transitions across spaces.

Guest rooms and suites, spanning the fifth to tenth floors, continue the dialogue with subtle local cues, while Ekant, a bespoke owner’s suite, stands as a singular, personal expression within the hotel.

A hospitality experience shaped by movement, material, and meaning.

One evening. Zero room for error. A whole lot of heart.
Swipe right to see what “under construction” really looks like when the clock is ticking down to opening morning.
Designing this booth was a dream on paper, but executing it the eve before launch? Pure adrenaline. Between ladders scraping the floors, last-minute pattern alignments, paints still wet past midnight, and the inevitable moments where things went sideways—there were plenty of hold-your-breath seconds.
Yet that’s the real beauty of site work: the chaos forces you to evolve. When original ideas hit friction, on-the-spot problem-solving took over. Trim by trim, panel by panel, arch after arch, every quick pivot and hands-on fix brought us closer to something that ultimately felt like it was meant to be all along.
They say it takes a village, and tonight proved it. Immense gratitude to the relentless, incredibly passionate teams at ego and Design Circus. From designers rolling up their sleeves with paint rollers to craftsmen fine-tuning every joint in the eleventh hour—this space stands because of your grit.

Immersive, layered, and rich in narrative—bringing materials to life at iDAC 2025 for Ego Design & Decor.
When designing the booth, the goal was not just to display finishes, but to orchestrate a seamless dialogue between textures, patterns, and architectural forms. The showcase marked the debut of Ego’s Jamawar Collection, integrated alongside their engineered wooden flooring and acoustic panel solutions.
Instead of isolating product categories, every zone was curated to weave the entire material palette together. By subtly shifting the visual hierarchy from one transition to the next—using backlit arches, geometric floor inlays, sculpted partitions, and textile-inspired screens—each material takes its turn in the spotlight while belonging to a cohesive spatial story.
A heartfelt thank you to Sandeep and Payal Agarwal for trusting our vision and giving us the creative canvas to build this experience. And as always, immense pride in the tireless, brilliant team at Design Circus for turning sketches into pure craft.
